I've been to 3 cards with a Walsh brother fighting and their fans are rather annoying!

I agree the 2 main fights plus a load of commonwealth type of fights wouldn't add up to much but I don't see it being any better than that estimate you have done. With the original magnificent 7 there were no real headline fights but a lot of good intriguing ones. Warren would rightly argue this has 2 big main event fights so the rest of the undercard doesn't need to be anywhere near that standard. I think that estimate you have up there though would be considerably better than the Khan/Mccloskey + Haye/Harrison ppvs

 

Its not going to have a top undercard Rob Degale Groves is costing 400k and god knows how much its costing to get Braehmer over so dont expect anything special but most of his prospects getting a decent run out some will be competitive possibly commonwealth level

 

The Degale vs Groves fight should be able to generate a lot of buys, maybe not 150,000 but not too far short of it, but the hype machine really needs to kick into action soon. I fear that Sky are reluctant to bang the drum about it too far for fear of another Haye vs Audley fiasco where a lot of casual followers were left disapointed after being convinced that it was, on paper, a very competitive match.

 

I see what you mean but Degale and Cleverly are pretty much holding Warrens PPV star hopes single handedly. I think he was hoping that the media would pick up on the Degale Groves more than they have Degale should be doing the David Haye chat show circuit right now.

These are great fights that people WOULD see but there is no exposure. I think Warren needs to hype up the media machine. He got it going for Mitchell

 

The hype machine went into over-drive going into that one. For example, I was in the laundrette on the morning of the fight and the attendant was even talking about it despite the fact that it was also FA Cup final day.

 

It was a bit of a funny one that i'm not entirely sure what he did exactly. he played a bit on the Prescott win and lots of calling out of Khan and there seemed to be a new press release everyday Kevin with Joe Cole, Eating jellied eals etc etc he also cleverly twinned it with West Ham which made it like another league game.

The Cleverley fight is a good world title fight but i agree not that much interest outside of boxing circles for this but.

I disagree with the part in bold this is something new. Its not something that we in Britain get to see often yes there is needle but its not just a simple i dont like you, he doesnt like me. Its the Olympic gold medallist and the lad that beat him in the amateurs both from the same gym. Both tipped for future honours.

That sort of thing just doesnt come around that often. Look at how excited people were getting about the idea of Bellew Cleverly a year ago people love these sort of fights. This is why people should be told about it make them interested they arent buying the fights they are buying the story look at Haye Audley/Valuev
