Fair enough, I was unecessarily rude to you as well, and for that I apologise, it was early. Thing is, it's not favouring older fighters to say that a lot if them has far more impressive bodies of work. Fact is, their era demanded a lot of things (best fighting the best, regular fighting, having to truly earn the status if 'World Champion') that the last few eras (especially the last five years or so) and it's far more ludicrous to try and justify a modern fighters 'greatness' based off the back of a few baubles. Calzaghe did not do as much as quite a few 'great' British fighters. And who the **** is 'Sud' or whatnot? Where is the Mong???
i kinda agree with this flea,although i would say not only black and white times(im not clued up to much on the olden days,im only 41 ffs),in the 60's 70's and evn 80's before all the rest of the belts and weights came into play,the best usually fought the best,i think,my memory is not what it used to be:nutcase
Randy Turpin knocked Don Cockell out before Marciano did. Pretty impressive for a middleweight to knock out a future heavyweight challenger and yet it always gets overlooked.
Unified HW champ beating Evander, Tyson, Vitali etc., beating every guy he ever faced. That, and the fact he would give any HW throughout history hell (Not saying he beats everyone, just that he gives them a good go). Don't get me wrong, I have him number 4, but a case can definately be made IMO.
I agree with Lewis to an extent, although I'd rate Calzaghe above him personally... I was just arguing on the basis of rating black and white boxers> colour boxers.
