Let's say that Foreman was supposed to take on a succession of Marciano clones. How many could he beat before they got to him?

Two at most, as I remember him looking gassed in the Toronto Five exhibitions

Not a single one. young foreman was too green and old foreman was too phoney.

journey man ted gullick was no bigger than marciano and fought in a simular style -if gullick had marciano-like power foreman would have landed on his teeth inside of two rounds against rocky. gulick could not miss george but did not have world class punch or chin. foreman took on a faded joe frazier only months after he disposed of gullick without any improvements. frazier did not have a lead right hand, nobody missed george with a lead right.

If jerry judge can find foremans chin with a lead right so could rocky marciano..

The first carnation of George foreman was only 3-2 against elite fighters so this does not automatically mean he destroys any ATG. He clearly is a great fighter himself but if only foreman fans could ever consider it was only a shot Joe Frazier’s chin that made young george look so good they would see that foreman is not so far ahead of other champions as they might think. foreman’s other big win-norton - only matches Luis Garcia, shavers and Cooney who great contenders they may have been were not all time greats.

Yes the potential was there to be better but foreman was too green and too arrogant to realise it at his best. Regardless of styles, It would be prudent to give most ATG heavyweights a 50-50 chance against peak George considering his short comings as well as his strength.

George had power but he fought like a god damn ape and was a sucker for a lead right hand. George had 2 great wins but had a break down and retired as a young man having fought just 5 elite fighters.

Rocky had a great lead right, consistantly over acheived against other ATG's, was tougher than peralta and was never knocked out.

    marciano was not joe frazier.

If Foreman got KO'd by the first Marciano clone and then another one, he could be in the negative numbers against him.

You know, like -2 Marcianos. It's math.

"George Foreman as a preacher in the late 70's"

George was gassed against 5 cans in Toronto.
