When I said black and White > colour, it was tounge in cheek hence the But in this case, Wilde, Kid and Fitz should be at the top IMO
I've seen people go over Dempseys career with a fine toothed comb and come to the conclusion he wasn't as great as first believed and yet Wild seems untouchable. They seem pretty similar to me. No real big stand out wins in terms of beating a great fighter but plenty of broken and battered bodies, a world title run and both lost to the best fighter they faced at the end of a long lay off while past their bests.
But I also rate Dempsey pretty highly tho :yep Wilde was rated the 3rd biggest puncher of all time by the ring mag. Something like 130 wins, 100 stoppages. Damn!
The fact that I consider Calzaghe > Lewis For one Calzaghe has never lost, and yes that does count for something. I feel Calzaghe was the better boxer; the way he dominated Kessler and Hopkins (who has gone on to prove he wasn't past it). The Supper Middle weight division is stronger now, then back in Calzaghe's day, and I'd still see Calzaghe beating them all! Maybe Lewis has more big win, maybe..... but he they haven't always been as easy, especially if you consider the klitschko win a big one, klitschko was getting the better of Lewis, and no Lewis was not shot a boxer does not become past it in a matter of months. The way I see it is that Froch would probably give any of the supper middle weights a good fight, but Calzaghe's speed and skill would own Froch all day long. Maybe using Kessler would have been a better comparison (since Calzaghe fought him) but it seems that some people on here think Froch is the best supper middlewight out there currently for what ever reason. Lewis was good but you have to edge it towards Calzaghe. Lewis and Calzaghe p4p in their primes... Calzaghe is better!
atschJust simply wrong, wrong and wrong!! :rofl:vonnecunt:****:beat:lloll:nutcaseWelcome to ESB by the way. :thumbsup
Wilde has wins over Joe Lynch. Pete Herman and Pancho Villa are both ATGs, as JBTB said, no shame in losing to those when outweighed/past prime. I think he gets but he ranks in my top 60 P4P GOAT. I also think Dempsey gets massively overrated.
15 or so title defences and losing only once, to someone who may rank in a lot of peoples world top 10 of all time. 2nd is a bit crazy as I'd even put Calzaghe above him but it's all personal preference and not really as bad as the Sun putting Ricky at no.2.
I love the fact he thinks having competitive fights against better opposition is not as good as easily beating weaker opposition :rofl What a Mong.
