Anyone else get the feeling Khan has peaked under roach?

I mean I think Roach wants Khan to be a pacquiao clone, in the Paulie fight I thought Roach was going to develop Khans jab, but since then he has been pretty much fighting the way he always does.

Khan doesnt have the power, accuraccy, stamina and chin to be successful fighting the way he is right now, he needs to learn to be more of a clever fighter, tighten his defence, pick his shots etc, Roach doesnt appear to have drilled this into him.

Factor in that Khan is still young, but has a limited window to learn new skills, and I think a change might help him.

The problems with Khan are not Roach's fault. He can only instruct, it's up to Amir to listen and to do it. If he chooses not to then it is his own fault. Unless he wants his current state to be his career high, Khan needs to stop acting and behaving like he has "made it", and start training better

Khan has an iffy performance, winning every round against an opponent who didn't want to engage and its time for a change of trainers?

    Ridiculous idea.

Roach is still the best in the game and the training videos are clear they are still working on quality moves. I doubt Khan is putting into effect 100% what he is doing int he gym.

    It's not Roach, it's Khan.

He's clearly a bit simple. Especially when it coems to Boxing I.Q, which appears shockingly low.

You could call it inteligence, but I don't think it is that. It's more a lack of focus/concentration. They have found a system which allows him to operate at the level he's currently at, to go any further requires something Khan is not prepared to do

I agree, he seems to have an A-B-C-A-B-C way of fighting that that will work against a lot of opponents if Khan sticks to it. The problem was on Saturday that McCloskey was forcing Khan out of that system and Khan looked poor, better opponents will force him out and will then exploit the errors which is something McCloskey didn't do.

no he shouldn't roach is one of the best.

BUT its funny how people make it out as roach is some sort of boxing god, anyone comes to him and they instantly become great boxers :patsch

when khan puts on a bad performance first its the conditioning coaches fault, then its the cutman, then khan himself gets a little of the blame but freddie can do no wrong.

great boxers existed before freddie roach.

You see some posts on here discussing potential match-ups involving Roach fighters and instead of weighing up the fighters styles, strengths, weaknesses etc. the first line of analysis is "Roach will make a gameplan for his fighter" as if thats all that needs to be said on the fight.
