HBO 24/7 Haye v. Wlad

    They're not gonna do a 24/7 for something thats not even on ppv for the US. Hopefully they do a 30 minute preview show or something but that probably makes too much sense for them to actually do it.

    Would make sense for HBO to do a countdown show but they didn't even do one for Bradley-Alexander which they were meant to be heavily promoting.

    I know it was discussed but I think logistics might keep it from happening sending a camera crew to Austria would be expensive. Would be awesome if it happened and also unprecedented since this is not a PPV fight. I think it would gain HUGE exposure for the fight to the casual HBO subscriber. Hope it happens...

    HBO won't do **** as this won't be PPV. This fight is of very little interest to US viewers and HBO probably don't wish to spend a single dime beyond what they're already paying to broadcast this.

    Yep it only makes sense in a PPV environment as to maximize buyrates and profit(s). Plus, HBO now makes the Promoter foot the bill for production costs on 24/7. Still wish they would do it though...

    HBO would probably profit by doing a 24/7 for this, but they won't as they are not capable of doing smart business decisions. :deal

    How would they profit from spending millions on a 24/7 when they have no ppv revenue coming in?


    From thinking more on this, a countdown show is even less likely since both these guys appear to be in the final few years of their careers. Its not like HBO is gonna start show all Wlads fights and I doubt Haye is gonna hang around after another year or so.

    It's not PPV, they don't do Countdowns anymore, and they consistently lose money on Wladdy Klitschko fights so HBO is not gong to spend more money on this fight than they have too.

    HBO has a budget for the year. They pay a license fee for the fight. There is NO WAY to determine that HBO is "losing money" on Klitschko fights. None.

    Ohhhh suuure.... I'm sure they only pass on Wladimir's fights simply based on the fact that they don't like his haircut or something. :roll:
