    In this thread:

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=305201

we established that 45% of the forum thinks that Foreman could knock out three or more Marciano clones in a row before succumbing, and another 15% of the forum believes that he could at least knock two out.

Where would you rate Tyson on the Marciano Scale? How many successive Marciano clones could he KO before getting knocked out himself?

  2. Marciano could not and would not beat Tyson period.

    Prety silly thread.

Anybody who talks seriously about one ATG knocking another out multiple times in sucession, is in as much of a dream world as Gene Tunney talking about Jack Dempsey knockoing out Charles, Walcott and Marciano in the same night.

Silliness aside, I disagree with this. Liston could have KO'd multiple Pattersons. Tyson himself probably could have bulldozed Spinks more than once.

Yeah Janitor, I have to agree with CT upon this. Sometimes ATG's knock each other out, and it could definitely happen twice in a row. I bet some really good chins would get cracked twice in a row.

The threads are crazy though, I agree with that much.

    One, is my answer.

    I doub't it.

You are taking an event which by deffinition is a minor aberation, and predicting it to be replicated multiple times in precise detail.

This might not be so bad if you were working with a scenario like Tyson Spinks that at least happenend once, but you are working with a fiughter who was never stopped.

How many Oliver McCalls do you like Tyson to KO?

I guess that depends on whether you believe Marciano's chin was as durable as McCall's. Those who side with the "modern is better" group tend to believe that Marciano's come-forward style, small size, and tendency to get floored by sub-200 pound fighters would mean an early KO against Tyson.

As for me, I'm just curious about what the forum thinks, considering that they came out so heavily in favor of Foreman.

It was not as durable as McCalls, but we are in equaly unknown teritory in terms of what it would take to break it.

    Who can realy say?

Nobody can really say, but I'm still curious to hear what people think.

Tyson would demolish Marciano, that's all I'm saying. How many times? Who knows? Tyson was bigger and better in his prime than Marciano.

He would make quick work of him . 'styles make fights' though, that's no slight to marciano.

4th Marciano would be too much, but he'd destroy 3 Marcianos + 1 Fitzsimmons.

Since 3 Marcianos + 1 Fitzsimmons = about 12 Marcianos, shall I put you down for "three or more"?

If this was 2007, I'd gladly give you at least 17 Buchanans on the Marciano. With the recent financial crisis, however, the exchange value of Marcianos has plummeted and Buchanans have appreciated. No more than 5 or 6 Buchanans these days.
