Completely protean to this topic, what did you run?

Anecdotally, it's funny how many guys I have known over the years who have become runners because they excelled at roadwork as a boxer. I also remember that Crisanto Espana (beat Meldrick Taylor) was a world class, or near world class, marathoner.

Oh, and by the way, this beanpole held the 100 meter world record...

Sub Three hour marathons and only did 400 competively as a vet, over 50 sub 60.
Did sub 11 100's as a kid so probably at least sub 50 material.
But disist lest we get banished to the lounge!

By the way, I think that Marciano would probably beat Fitz because of the latter's vulnerability to a crouch, Marciano's own insane stamina, and Marciano's tendency to shake off knockdowns from punchers of Fitz's size and above.

I will add, however, that the idea of Fitzsimmons beating Marciano is not nearly as ludicrous the initial post in this thread suggests.

Fitzsimmons was a lethal puncher. Far better than Marciano ever fought. In addition to being a cunning warrior, Fitz had good recuperation powers.

Fitz could very well KO Marciano who took on average 9 rounds + to win his championship fights. Marciano was a puncher, but more of an attrition type who could occasionally spark his man out quickly or with one big punch. When you read about Fitzsimmons, his fights have sudden, and sometime violent endings.

The film I want to see if it is still out there is Fitz vs. Ruhlin, complete with training and the full six rounds.
