Yes i am... And why dont you try putting a list together and you will see what im talking about.. Everyone i know who has put one together all agree that there is not a lot seperating a group of all time greats.. Some times u have to go 8-10 spots to find just a small difference. Thats when i just resort to who would win HTH.

if Duran was able to get the win over hagler he would make my #1 ATG.

Thats how significant that win would of meant and I rank Duran 4-7ish.

Exactly just like Durans win over Leonard elevated him up big time.. By at least 10 spots. There are a lot of atgs that have been moved up big time by 1 win. Just to name a few

    Sanchez over Gomez
    Morales over Pac
Pryor over Arguello in fact this is what made him an atg or else he would just be known as very good.
    Spinks over Holmes
    Sadlers over Pep
    Holyfield over Tyson

Etc etc i could go on and on but all these great fighters atg rankings were boosted alot with just one opponent or one win.

I don't think duran should be here at top 10. The only notable win he had was his win against SRL. Other than that, he's a no mas no mas boxer. In his place, SRL should be there. Pac should be at top 5 at the moment.

imagine duran also taking the hearns fight in hindsight. where would duran be if he pulled that one and dominated hearns?

In a mythical fight. As always, Pac loses. But judging from Duran's fight records, he's not fit to be considered ATG. SRL, Hearns, and Hagler >>> Duran.

I think he brought up Hagler, because that was a very winnable fight and he almost pulled it out. In fact if it had been a modern day 12 round fight.. Duran would have won.

Kind of reaching with the Hearns fight as that was a blowout. Although i do like an inshape(not weight drained like he was) Durans chances against Hearns at WW.. At JM or Mw i cant see Duran ever beating Hearns.

Thats because Manny is beateable against certain styles from the past. Its not a knock on Manny, if anything its compliment as you have to get in a time machine to find guys to whup him.

Its obvious your a boxing newb.... And quit getting your ideas and theorys by looking at boxing records... Durans only loss in his prime was to Dejesus, and he was still was a little green compared to the one who knocked out Dejesus in their next 2 fights.

OK let me backtrack on the time machine comment... I dont think Manny can beat Mayweather.

He lost. Fighting gallantly in a losing effort is still not winning.

yes i understood why he brought it up but what if duran pulled both hagler and hearns. that would be a very sick resume having leonard, hagler and hearns and duran starting as a bantamweight.

My comment has nothing to do w/ Pac at all. But records wise, Duran's only notable was against Leonard in their first fight. Other than, he lost the 2nd fight against Leonard in the that infamous "no mas, no mas" stoppage, lost to Hearns and Hagler. He's one of the best lightweight boxer though. But top 10 ATG, that's too much of an injustice to others more deserving.

Where will you place Mike Tyson in top 10 ATG? Ali is questionable in the #2 perch.
