Yeah, I really just used it as an example of him toying with the idea of taking advantage of his physical gifts, obviously I wouldn't make such an outrageous claim that he utilises his height and reach on a regular basis, rather that he did at least attempt to make use of it at some point.

Now that is a good example, Foster, especially during his light-heavy reign against the likes of Quarry and Kelly. A really monstorous reach for the weight, and one who could make full use of it too.

Froch undergoing such a stylistic change was/is much more feesible than Khan doing so. Khan, for me anyway, is far too robotic to be anything other than strictly an outside fighter with only the jab and straight right at his disposal. He's horrendously ragged when it comes to throwing anything other than those two blows. At least Froch has a bit more fluidity about him.

 

He fought like how many would imagine him to be like..the Mexican pride and glory. He did took some blows and went down to show how open he gets.

Did anyone else have an issue with his head charging?

 

Khan's biggest problem for me is his predictability..... he likes to jab, then jab again.... if the opponent doesn't do anything to counter that he kinda bumrushes in square on, throws his straight lefts & rights before getting out of there again.

Repeat.

Well if Khan is as one dimensional as some people claim to be he will get found out vs Bradley.

But if Khan shows us more than that and shows adaptability and overcomes Bradley, I hope people give him credit and show the guy some respect, as I will do the same if Bradley wins.

 

no you wouldn't, if khan loses it will be mike vale's fault, then joe chavez for not stopping the bleeding from the headbutt, then the biased ref, then the bradley fan who was screaming and distracting amir, then freddie roach.

I can't believe how badly cussed I got when I first claimed Khan was one dimensional Most gave him more of a chance, I was accused of being a 'hater', as the fights go on Khan being worse than even I gave him credit for.

 

As long it's not a bull **** clash of heads from Bradley which ends the fight, I give you my word if Bradley wins a fair fight he has got my respect.

 

I was going to say something along these lines. Bradley is quality, if he can't hurt Amir than Khan might not need any adjustments, he might be able to outwork him (still unlikely as Bradley seems to have more gears and will likely swat Khans offence away) but let's not get ahead of ourselves; Bradley is no Locche, Pryor, or even a Tszyu.

Khan would be the no.1 in a very, very good division. A very good division without a no.1 possessing the 'Wow' factor.

 

A lot of quality fighters have had dirty tricks, it's up to the opponents to show knowing and the mentality to get through them.

As it stands, I'm quite worried that the height will make a difference here....as Bradleys head might well collide with Khans chin, spark him, and hand Khan a hollow DQ victory :rofl

It is a bit of a shame Amir can't be a safety first fighter and doesn't know how to use his advantages, even with his punch resistance you could see him being a very formidable fighter. With his style I see him having very little longevity.

You see this is where I dont understand, after the Prescott loss Khan moved over to Roach(mainly because his defence was poor) and in his first few fights as in ***an, MAB, Kotelnik, even Paulie Khan was mostly safety first, with him keeping a high guard, everything behind the jab a bit like Wlad but bit boring.

But in this Maidana fight alot of that went out the window, Khan was very reckless, it seemed like he wanted to prove a point, maybe the sparring with Pacman got to his head.

I agree for Khan to have longevity he has to have a safety first approach, even more at 147 when he moves up.

I've said this loads of times Darni; looking defensively spud against non-offensive fighters doesn't guarantee that improvements have been made. Those guys all put him at a stylistic advantage, their lack of pop meaning he could 'do his thing'.

Also, their lack of offence masked his lack of defence. He's doing the same thing, it just doesn't work.

 

Hmm yeah lets wait and see, Bradley fight should tell us how good Khan really is, it will be a great test.
