Greatest technician of the Mayweathers?

Obviously Floyd Jr. IMO. He shows the most versatility out of all of them, is the most complete on offense and defense, had great combinations and mastery of range in his 130-35lb prime, and has managed to adapt himself despite declining physical talent to STILL be one-sidedly dominant at a higher weight class.

 

Neither of the other two were even particularly good technicians really.

 

I'd say we got a better look at his 147 speed against Marquez. He still has the one-shot speed and reflexes in solid condition. I have my doubts about whether he can still pop off those combinations the same way, or move around well. He's inactive and older. Honestly I think Pacquiao would take him now.

 

Roger was alright but fairly basic at least compared to Floyd

Floyd Sr wasn't half as good imo.

 

Mayweather sr just fought like someone trying to be cute and slick that didn't have the chops or natural anticipation\spacial awareness for it imo.I thought his speed and physical ability were fine actually.

Maybe i'm being harsh with Roger as he was a good educated jab\right hand fighter and could move okay, but i always thought of him as more someone who excelled because he had some world class basic tools, not a fighter with much subtlety or inventive ringcraft.A solid offensive technician though, i suppose.

 

I have my doubts about whether Floyd as he is now can handle Pacquiao's combination of angles, power, and speed, and stamina, above all else. Pacquiao won't get tired after a few rounds like Mosley, and he won't be discouraged with single shots. You have to bring a fight to him to beat him, and while I think Floyd did a great job pressuring Mosley, I don't know if he can do the same with Manny.

Still enough to beat the Pacman I think, even so it get´s closer and closer.

 

Agreed on all counts, except that i think the Mosley-Mayweather PBF is a 50-50 with Pacquiao.
