Why would Floyd (5'8", 72") fight JMM (5'6.5", 67") but not Martinez (5'10", 75")?

    Mayflower had a 1.5inch height advantage and a 5in reach advantage over JMM.

    Martinez has a 2in height advantage and a 3in reach advantage over Mayflower.



    Mayflower fights at 147, and has fought in a 154 fight.

    Marquez fights at 135, and had never fought at 140 or 147.

    Martinez fights at 160, but spent most of his career at 154.



    Why was a Mayflower-Marquez fight OK, but a Mayflower-Martinez fight isn't?

    why would manny fight Margarito who knocked out Sergio Martinez but NOT fight Martinez?

    bc that was his first time fighting at 154 ... and Pac is clearly too small for that weightclass. He came in at 146 and was outweighed by 17lbs. Kinda f'ing obvious.


    Floyd has a naturally bigger body and fought at the 154 limit before. The answer to this question is Floyd won't take a risk that's why. That should be common logic by now.

    Manny chose Margo because Margo is slow as **** and has no power. Martinez on the other hand has speed, skills, and can crack. Manny doesn't wanna fight somebody live.

    If you'd ever seen that fight, you wouldn't make such a stupid comment. Martinez looked like an anoxeric teenager in that fight, he was NOTHING like he is now, not in body type, muscle mass, or fighting style. And FYI, Margarito didn't "knock him out", the fight was stopped with Martinez on his feet, bit of an early stoppage if you ask me.

    If Martinez fought Margarito now, Margo would be lucky to make the 3rd round, considering Martinez is now a superbly-muscled 170lbs power-punching middleweight champion. :patsch

    And Shane Mosley has already said that HE wouldn't even fight Martinez because of the size of Maravila. Seeing that Floyd is very similar in size to Shane and beat him with ease, I think it's natural to ask if Floyd would be willing to fight Maravila.

    Asking a 144-48lbs Pacman to fight a 170lbs Martinez is just stupid. It's like asking Martinez to fight Chad Dawson.
