Greatest technician of the Mayweathers?

No, but he can muscle Pac in close and has enough footspeed to stay away. It´s him who can decide at which distance this fight will happen I think and he has an advantage at two of them.

 

I say that you should have made the poll a viewable (public) one because Id like to see which mug voted for anyone other than Floyd Jr.

 

How much of Mayweather SR have you seen. He was a pretty good fighter. Roger wasnt too shabby himself

JR is obviously the most proven.

 

Haven't seen him at all, i wandered into the thread thinking he was talking about the Quarry brothers.

Mayweather Jr. but he's basically a mix of his father and uncle who has faced lesser opposition. Had he fought the likes of Sugar Ray Leonard, Julio Cesar Chavez and Pernell Whitaker, I doubt we would praise him as an unbeaten phenom and it's possible that with his attitude he could not have withstood a tough loss.

Roger to his credit always got back in there no matter how badly he was knocked out. He was like a poor man's Hearns, with a brutal right hand and good basic skills as previously pointed out, and later on he added a shoulder roll defense learned from his brother which made him more difficult to catch at 140 though he always stayed vulnerable because of his chin and tendency to mix it.

Floyd Sr's career was cut short by the shooting incident and he probably wasn't quite the same after coming back. He was in great condition and had very fast hands, but the power wasn't there and this allowed his best opponents, Leonard and Starling, to walk through his offense. He deployed many of the same techniques as Floyd Jr. but to lesser success. Still a highly skilled technician though.

 

I've only seen the Leonard fight, I actually thought he looked more skilled than Leonard but was simply out gunned, he looks like a carbon copy of Floyd Jr, maybe not as physically capable
