As soon as JMM accepted the PBF fight, everybody in Pac's camp already said that a loss would make it very hard for him to get the third Pac fight. Yet he still did it (despite an opportunity of backing out).

Now everybody is saying him renewing his GBP contract will make it MORE and MORE impossible to get the Pac fight. And it seems he is on the verge of signing to GBP. :huh

JMM never won any fight with Pac. He was lucky to get a draw in the first fight. (The controversy was not about who won, but about one Judge scoring a 10-7 round rather than the mandated 10-6)

In the second fight, JMM lost, since the offical judges scored the fight that way. Those are the facts, accept it or not. That is the way it is and it ain't gonna change.

Personally, I scored both fights as a draw. Even after rewatching the fight many times you can lean toward Pac or JMM just by focusing on either fighter. To me, that has to be the best defination of a draw.

JMM not only turned down a rematch with Pac in 04' he turned down a big offer for fight with Morales at the recommendation of Nacho. I think he called Morales Arum's pet because he would have made more money. And all this dispite the fact they were all three Top Rank fighters.

Didn't margo lose to mosley yet he still got the fight.

It's not Arum that don't want GBP in the mix it's Pacquiao. The only way for GBP to be able to negeoiate a fight with Pacquiao is if they apologize to him for the peds allegations.

If all those guys have the same frame as JMM, then even those wouldn't have happened.

He'll wait for Mosley/Pacquiao. The Pacquiao fight makes the most sense because a lot of people, including JMM, believe he beat Pacquiao both times. At this point, if he loses to Pacquiao clearly, it won't hurt him because he can always go back to 135 or seek a title at 140.

Signing with TR DOESN'T gurrantee a Pac fight! I guess, IMO, Marquez doesn't understand that IF the fight were to happen, Roach won't let Pac fight at 140 or 135 for a Marquez fight. Marquez at 147lbs won't be competitive at all but he will never understand, who will admit it tohimself anyway? I understand that Marquez wants a fight with Pac because of the history they have but also because a fight with Pac at this stage will him the most money of all, win or lose.

But if I were him, in the short term, fight Judah. I would also wait for the Khan/Bradley winner, assuming Marquez gets past Judah. Then finish a fight with Morales for a nice fat payday too.

  9. If I was Marquez I wouldnt find Mayweather or any other black fighters again. Clearly he can't win so there would be no point in doing so.

But Judah would be a giant step in class compared to Katsidis, Juan Diaz or even the retiring Casa.

He is not guaranteed he will win against Judah. If he losses, then what?

You're right! It seems the only way to get a fight with pac is losing you last fight. :yep

And Marquez is a giant step in class compared to Baldazar and Clottey. If he losses he's in line to get a fight with pac.

apparently, the offer was $5M for a 3rd fight with pac if pac would win against mosley. also there was a rematch clause that could offer marquez more than $5M ($10M + upside according to dan rafael's tweet) in the rematch for a 4th fight if he is to beat pac for the 3rd fight.

considering all this news, has anybody changed their mind about jmm re-signing with GBP or should he take now the pac fight?

I would fight Judah at 140, then defend my title against Morales, and then fight Pac. I would already be signed to fight Judah tbh, so that it happens in April or May. If Pac wants the fight in November, then I would skip the MOrales fight.

I would salute my fans, count up my earnings, and then ride off into the sunset.
