This came to mind with Breidis Prescott fighting in the main events of Friday Night Fights in America tonight.

What fighters have lived/are living off the back of one win?

Prescott is distinctly average. Not that exciting or technically good yet he continually seems to get decent placement on cards- off the back of his win against Khan.

Anyone else you can think has done this?

Probably open a can of worms but Ricky Hatton did a lot off the back of a solitary solid win against Kostya, IMHO.

Rahman's been dining out off his victory over Lewis for years.

    Spinks is a good call.

    Kevin McBride?

I think picking Rahman is a bit harsh, he did beat some other decent-ish fighters..... and hung around in decent company.

Prescott would struggle to beat my mother, he's absolute gash.

He didn't actually win the fight but think of how long Felix Sturms been able to get away with staying home and fighting average guys because he got robbed against Oscar De La Hoya.

You're probably right about Rahman, it's going to be hard to really top Prescott given that he was virtually unknown outside of his home town prior to Khan.

Literally don't understand why Prescott gets these fights. There is nothing exciting about him- his power is average.

This thread could go on for ages and you'd struggle to find a better answer than Prescott...... I mean, he's been stood on his head by Kevin Mitchell who's average himself, yet people still want to see Khan fight him again.

No doubt if Khan ''manned up'' and fought him they'd go and accuse him of ducking somebody else.

Even looking at the biggest upsets ever in boxing - Buster Douglas at least beat Oliver McCall and fought Holyfield immediately after..... McCall and Rahman both beat Lewis but both faced lots of good fighters with mixed results.

Erm.... if David Haye beats a Klitschko.....

Maybe a bit harsh as he did operate in world class at 126 afterwards but Stevie Cruz vs. McGuigan?

Prob got too many title shots than he deserved.

On a domestic level I can see Carl Baker getting the living off one win treatment. Seems to be getting more fights against decent opposition now.

Yeah, he def. used the fact he'd beaten McGuigan to jump a few queues.

When it comes to earning far more than your ability would permit McBride wins handsdown.

Leon to his credit was an Olympic Gold medal winner + entertaining.

Don't agree on Prescott, he went on to take Vasquez to a split decision on that alone he deserves £15k (Guess) payday on ESPN.

I know he didn't win but Zab Judah has been living off the ''gave Floyd fits for a few rounds'' myth - when in truth he ought to have been rendered irrelevant when Miguel Cotto took everything he had left.
