JMM had to go to war to land those counters. So did the guy in your avatar. Is Floyd going to be willing? I just don't see it.

 

Until somebody beats Floyd I will have to give him the benefit of the doubt, he knows that Pac will present a real threat though, which is why this fight hasn't been made. To me Floyd adds to his legacy if he takes this fight, win or lose, I would respect him a lot more if he just fights, but will he?

reasons why u can't use Pac vs Floyd other lefties is because they were all longer and could strike from a comfortable distance.

Pac 67" reach

Chop Chop 70" reach

Zab 72" reach

these are the two lefties brough up the most...look at their reaches...look at Pac's reach.....

Floyd's reach.....72" reach

Ontop of that JMM the guy he went life or death with...67" reach

Now i have not included all the lefties but these are the two most brought up and the other is well his nemesis i guess who is a very sound boxer but nowhere near Floyd's level.....if you do not see why this fight will be so completely different I have no words for you.

for some reason pacs arm length went down, it was always 25 then when he fought oscar it became like 22.5 I think and its now listed as such.

Reach is a really stupid stat without arm length attached to it. For instance if Manny has a 67" reach with 25" arms, that means he has a slim body which is an advantage in two ways: he's a smaller target, and his left hand is closer to his opponent and will get in that much faster as it's traveling a shorter distance. If Zab has a 72" reach with 22" arms, that means his shoulders are 11" (65% !!!) wider than Pacquiao's and his left hand has a lot more space to cover before it reaches its target. So if we are to believe these numbers, Pacquiao with a 67" reach holds every advantage over Zab with a 72" reach.


I really question the validity of any of the measurements, though, as someone already pointed out that some fighters' arm lengths change from fight to fight. The only numbers I ever really believe in boxing are weights.

 

crazy...the reach is important to me in this fight because it actually means something to two fighters who are of this calibre....but if the reach is this close......got damn this is gonna be a hell of a fight.

This fight is close and everything counts even reach....if its this close...to me.....i think it changes things a little.

 

I think it's safe to say that one or both of those measurements are wrong, concerning Zab and Manny. If Zab's arms are 3" shorter and his shoulders are 11" wider, either Pacquiao should look like an orangutan or Zab should look like a Tyrannosaurus.
