I know absolutely nothing about bodybuilding but this all makes a lot of sense to me. I have seen old photos of muscular fighters from way back when but all they prove is how much more in proportion they all were compared with Tyson and most who came after him. small hands and small feet with everything else being far too big is usually a tell tale sign.

  3. Seriously I hate white people so bad, All a bunch of racist idiots. Marciano would of never got in the ring with Tyson. Marciano was a coward who avoided any fighter who wasnt past their primes or controlled by the mafia. If Rocky Marciano was 230 pounds he would of lost 50 so he could go back fighting 180 pound bums.

That is like saying if Mike Tyson was 6'5 and had Joe Fraziers balls he would of never lost. The point is Marciano was 5'10 180s and his body couldnt take being 230 or he would of weighed that much.

If Archie Moore could knock Marciano down then Tyson would of killed this piece of trash.

No way Marciano every beats Tyson. Not a chance. Tyson is too fast and too powerful.

BTW, Marciano is highter on my ATG HW list.

    It's fine to have favourites.

It's fine to say "I think that x fighter would have little chance against y fighter." or that "I think too many fans of x fighter over-rate his chances here." But this is the Classic forum, so you then have to back it up with considered analysis.

Personally, I think that Rocky has the heart of a lion, but that Tyson would be likely to overpower him early. He is one of the very few fighters that I think could manage this feat (Foreman being another). But I would still give Marciano a chance if he could survive the early rounds.

But why is Marciano a "piece of trash"? There is nothing but the ugly sound racism in this post.

Marciano was a great champion who beat the best competition of his era, black and white, and gave rematches when fights were close. He could have done little more as champion. In addition, he was a fine champion out of the ring, treating the title with maximum dedication and respect, and I have read that he had time for his fans. You will find very, very few fighters with the total dedication to training and boxing that Marciano had.

Can we say the same about the fickle and foolish Tyson? Who's behaviour and respect for the championship was more "trash-like"? Watching the Tyson movie/documentary, Tyson himself (by no means an unintelligent man) admitted that he was out of control and a spoilt brat who was coming apart at the seams. IIRC, He confessed that he fought one of his key fights feverish with a sexually transmitted disease.

I've just read the rest of your post and clocked your stupid user name.

I've just wasted my time with acknowledging your trolling existence, haven't I? Whatever you are, you are not a boxing fan.

Tyson, was 190lbs at 13 years old and 200lb of pure muscle at 16. There was a Tv special on him when he was 16.

Well for starters, have you established that either Foreman or Tyson could KO Marciano even once ?

The man was never KO'd, and only ever looked in danger of stoppage from some impromptu and unlicensed rhinoplasty, courtesy of Dr. Charles.

On the other hand, Big George and Iron Mike both administered anesthesia to a goodly number of fighters, usually early.

George only faced one pug of Marciano's level, but as he bounced him around like a rag doll, he would definitely have it in him to stop Marciano. He would have three, maybe four rounds to accomplish the feat.

If he fails to meet that timetable, I would expect he would lose on points or possibly even get stopped.

    Prime Tyson ?

He has nobody of Marciano's calibre on his KO list. So I don't think we have enough evidence here to consider him KOing Rocky as being inevitable.

I would consider this a 50/50 proposition, regardless of whether or not this went the distance.

So while the possibility exists for both Foreman and Tyson to get the KO, I would say the maximum number of consecutive times it could be pulled off by either man is ONE.

I don't no why Rocky is so underrated?

A lot of Power, loads of heart, stamina to burn, carried his power late, good chin, the will of a pitbull? what is he missing apart from speed? , maybe the flashy, slick black American moves and shoe shinning.

You think Tyson could have taken the kind of pounding that Marciano received at the hands of JJW in 1952...and then come back to win the title with a one punch KO?...he never got off the floor to come back to win...he was hammered by Buster Douglas and a past his prime Holyfield...never mind beating a fighting machine like Rocky Marciano!!!
