So, Roberto Duran is one of my favorite fighters of all time (probably my favorite). I believe he is the greatest P4P of all time. (Personal opinion).

Id like to put him up against Manny Pacquiao. At lightweight and welterweight.

Who do you think would win this??

I surely think In both cases it would be Duran by KO, but I would like to hear your opinions on this.

Please no BS hate or fanboy behavior, just rational thought.

Also make sure to select 2 options only (one at welter, one at lightweight).

    Hey warman.

I agree, Duran was a beast at lightweight and would stop almost anyone there (the only guy I think beats him at this weight more often than not is Whitaker... maybe).

At welter I think Manny stands more of a chance, and probably lasts the distance but loses a fairly close decision.

Hey man, I also think that Manny has a bigger chance at welter, however I still think Duran would KO him in the latter rounds.

It would be an incredible matchup though, both fighters being offensive monsters.:good

Biggest difference between the two is Duran's defense. He's a master at staying on the inside, making you miss and countering with hard, powerful combo's.

I'll take Duran by decision @ LW, Manny by decision @ WW. I think Manny would have been a better LW than he is a WW but we never got a chance to find out.

What separates Duran and Pacquiao at lightweight is Durans slickness, his defence was underrated and against a style like Pacquiao Duran would find plenty of right handcounters which would eventually lead to a KO.

Although at welterweight my gut feeling says that Pacquiao would scrape a narrow decision, but I'm confused because a 100% dedicated Duran is close to unbeatable against a high aggressive fighter (Pacquiao).

Durans ability to roll with punches while on the move and his straight right ....his ability to slip and get inside. His power at Welter at lightweight Pac has a better chance still Duran has too much ability and primarily his defense gives him the advantage.

Duran looked as good as he ever did against SRL and Palomino at ww. Manny wouldn't stand a chance against that man.
