That's an almost certainty. The hope there would be that his activity and speed in close would throw off Barkley's accuracy and timing in a way that the more stationary defensive fighters couldn't do (and he'd hopefully avoid those wicked body shots Barkley was landing on Duran with in the process). He'd have to essentially annoy Barkley like a fly and hope not to get swatted enough to stop him in the process.

So, while I'd make him the underdog, in a scenario where the stars lined up just right I think Armstrong could've pulled of the upset.

I also took the thread to mean fighters who were physically smaller than Duran to win...and frankly, I couldn't think of any guys shorter than 5'7 and natural lightweights I'd even give that much hope to. It'd be like Pac vs Margo on steroids, and Margo's body work really hurt Manny even though Pac dominated.

Eh, well, I reiterate. Guys smaller or around the same size as Duran.

If you mean guys that fought at junior lightweight, I would pick Floyd to do the job.

I would go so far as to make him the favourite.

Ike Williams comes to mind for me, as does Benny Leonard. They could be both punchers and boxers. It remains to be seen how they would cope with the extra weight.
