Say you could only have one of these attributes. Which would you prefer?

probably a great punch, but either can be improved to some degree.

you will inevitably fight guys who have a good enough defence or good enough chins to resist your Punch. or you will fight guys with awkward styles that dont allow you to use your big punch well. slippery fighters.

however an iron chin will help you against every type of opponent, every level of opposition at any time.

you WILL get hit in boxing. at some stage. thats the name of the game. but there is more than one way to win a fight.

    Punch.
Wlad Klitschko proves you don't need a great chin to be the best.

I'd take 1/2 of each and let my skill overcome my opponents :)

punch for sure. Nothing is worse than seeing a past it guy in over his head and get completely dominated, but with no power, all he can do is take the beatings. With the punch, you can always beat someone who is "better", and if you are getting beaten too badly the fights is over and that is that, you know its time to move on.

Power leaves much later than speed.

Id rather have a heavy hand that can ktfo my opponent in less than 4, than an iron chin but could not take the fight to the last round.

    but but but...

like doc said, your power and/or chin is useless if you aint got no skeelllll

i already have both:D but i think i would rather have the punch . if trained properly; the chin may never get truly tested.
