I rather see prime jeff lacy vs Prime Dirrell. two big time underachievers.
Calzhage would wreck Dirrell. His hands were to fast in his prime. Dirrell doesn't have enough speed or power.

It's not fair to compare a guy that hasn't reached his prime yet against Joe Calzaghe

Switch Dirrell with Calzaghe and then i would agree with you.

He would last all 12 rounds with Calzaghe And outpoint him.

Dirrell couldn't handle the output of an orthodox Froch how's he going to handle a fellow southpaw who not only adapts when things are going wrong but throws x2 what Froch does?:huh

Ward I could cut you guys some slack but Dirrell???

Jesus Christ the American hype machine is alive and well here at ESB.

Dirrell, is younger, faster, taller. Seriously, Dirrell, has all the physical advantages over Calzage and I think he has a good shot winning this fight.

Fighters like Dirrell, Cintron, Dawson, etc. are annoying as ****. They have the talents but they lack the mental toughness and smarts to put them together.

Calzaghe UD or maybe by TKO. Say what you want about Calzaghe, you can't deny that he came to fight. I hate his style but he was a great champion, something Dirrell will never be. If they did fight then Calz would show why he was a champion and make Dirrell wish he never chose that fight.

Fight won't happen because Dirrell isn't 50 years old and it should be in some unknown corner in Wales.

Jc doesnt exactly have a stellar resume himself. :deal

Dirrell has the abraham win as well as IMO pointing froch. I am not the only one who thought he edged froch.

The fact is this is a styles match up problem for calzaghe. I am not saying he could not win it but it would be a problem for him. Dirrell is faster with ahnd and foot than anyone JC ever faced in the ring.

Also beat Kessler who was undefeated and a top name and put an end to the Lacy hype. Both were champions in Calz' division I may add. It frustrates me that I appreciate Calzaghe as a fighter but as I try to watch his other fights that aren't Kessler, Lacy, or Mitchell I despise them as his style is painful on my eyes. Calzaghe was a great fighter and though his resume isn't too solid, he has wins over Kessler and Lacy that are solid.

That he is but he doesn't have the ring smarts to properly use them and has terrible footwork. Calzaghe would apply pressure and Dirrell would make him look bad but Calzaghe would want the W more and eventually grind out a decision imo.

So him beating Lacy and Kessler makes him a great fighter ?

You said Kessler was undefeated at the time ,But none of that matters.

LEVEL OF OPPOSITION is what matters.

What great supermiddleweight has Kessler beaten to solidify himself as a great supermiddleweight ?

Resumes shouldn't come into this thread. They are irrelevant. What is relevant, is the huge difference in technical ability between Calzaghe and Dirrell. That would decide the fight, without question.
