Its actually very different if you fought in the streets, there's no rules and regulations that a trained fighter may ne at a disadvantage. I dont think a boxer is trained to fight on the ground should he get tackled.

But he is trained to punch, which all it takes in a street fight

Gloves protect your hands, not your face.

Yes even in his autobiography. There is a story about the time he layed out a few muggers on the boardwalk in Atlantic city... GUess these guys were trying to mug someone else and Johnny came to the rescue. To that poster who says bantams would nt do much damage in a steet fight:lol::roll:

Exactly. For example, in a rough fight someone could for for your eyes if one's life is on the line. This is obviously not allowed in any fighting sport.

chavez jr. looks like a chump. being that b-hop spent time in prison i'm surprised no one wanted him on their side if there was ever a brawl. i remember him saying one time on the radio and construction took his money and didn't remodel his house, and he laid him out on the streets, and the construction worker was like 300 pounds.

kermit the ***** cintron might do well in a street fight because if it gets to the ground he was a decent wrestler in college.

LOL this is a funny read. Enjoyed it, I think I would have to say Cory Spinks gets my # 1 vote but certainly some good honorable mentions here.

huh? have you been in a fight? kicking are allowed, takedowns are very much part of it, and most often than not, street fights ends on the ground. Its not all about punching.

Any boxer ranked in the top ten from 130 up would **** up 99 % of the male population in a street fight.

That's a misconception, street fights end on the ground after each combatant has thrown wild punches. It would never get to the ground if a pro boxer was involved. I have yet to see a street fight that started with a takedown. Not to mention the average Joe doesn't really know what to do on the ground and they gas early.
