Pac put all the weight in his legs. Marquez still had the same chicken legs at 147 as he did at 126. Marquez was alot slower and pac maintained all that speed and power.

Pac is a much better fighter. JMM just has the right style to give him fits. Norton couldn't do what Ali did either.

The situation with Pac and Marquez is comparable to Ali and Norton, where a lesser fighter just had the right style to give fits to a far greater fighter.

 

Too many people overlook this. Pac looks generally smaller than this opponents, but he has HUGE ****ing calves (bigger than Cotto's, bigger than Margarito's, bigger than Clottey's, and bigger than Mosley's). This is where power and speed is generated, and Pacquiao is naturally gifted with strong legs and blazing hand speed. You can't train or teach something like that to Marquez.

Some people carry weight better than others. No point in trying to dissect why he carries weight better, he just does. Simple as that.

 

LOL at Pac being a much better fighter! Marquez is the better boxer! Pac has more power and more speed but better fighter? No Sir!

Anyway back to the original question every boxers body is different, Marquez body cannot put on much weight I feel, while it appears Manny is not only exceptional but his body was still growing and so he was able to put on weight much better.

since pacquiao went from 126-147 is it true his bodyweight has stayed round about the same whilst almost all the gain can be attributed to his head growth?

20lbs in head growth doesn't seem reasonable to me but it would explain a few things as that is one huge noggin he been developing past few years I swear
