Hey guys, I love watchin Guv fight as much if not more than the next guy but HTF can a newbie have a shot at the Aussie title after only 2 pro fights, where TF are we livin here?:kenny
I may as well add that Kirby and Edwards are contesting a VACANT title on Michael/Armatruda's May 13 show in Melbourne. Whitehead has relinquished, and appears to be not having any current thoughts of fighting again.... depends on how the chooks sell in Bendigo. Stools, Edwards has only had three bouts.... about the same as Whitehead when he took the H/W title.. Three early stoppages over the last few years may sound the unlikely road to a H/W title; others have done it in the same amount of fights, or even sooner. The ANBF don't have super, regular, or interim champs, so there's just the requirement of being top 10 rated, and available for the date to procure a shot. Edwards is handled by one of the best trainers in the country, and certainly the one with the spiffyest hair cut. Linc will do all possible to ensure Edwards has enough gas to last into the laster rounds. The fight itself will be a bloody war. I doubt it'll last into the fifth.. Good luck to both men.
kirby wins at least 7 rounds...he might lose 2 or 3 rounds early but then dominates. guaran-****ing-teed :deal
IMO Ben has a good chance of stopping Kirby around 4 or 5 rounds....if it goes longer then Kirby comes back into the fight
Safe to say Kirby will charge in and hold trying to land his overhand right in the clinch....I guess we are going to see if Ben can spin off and counter and step back and give himself room to land his straight power shots....either way I'm looking forward to this fight and the card
Spin off, step back, counter, room?? Too tactical. Ding Ding, swing swing, bleed, fall.... arm raised. And the new H/W champion is ...
I think Kurby will be rough and ready but I think Ben will fight a smarter fight....not just brawl....Ben has quick footwork and he's going to us it to get in position to land his shots :good
To the uneducated, ill informed clowns saying WTF at these two fighting for an Australian title, consider this before telling me who the **** you think should be fighting for the vacant title. The fight was originally scheduled for Whitehead and Kirby to battle it out for the Aussie title, White head with wins over Colin Wilson and Solomon Haumono, Kirby, a former OPBF title holder, with a win over Nathan Briggs, you'd surely have to concede that, with their form and combined 19 fights, they are worthy to compete for the title? Whitehead pulled out of the fight a couple of weeks ago so who the **** do you replace him with? C'mon geniuses. Ben Edwards has a KO win over former Aussie champion and Oliver McCall opponent, John Hopoate, and if you want to winge about his lack of ring experience, take into account his 40 kickboxing fights with highlights including multiple Australian titles, a stoppage win over Paul Slowinski and an I.S.K.A.world title.
Could well be the most action packed three rounds of the year. A definate each way fight in the opening minutes/rounds.
I'm not game to offer a bet on this one, Bobby, I think I've got a double or nothing on a sixer of Cougars coming up with you shortly. Oh, hang on a minute, I'll take bangen' Ben to win, If I win, you change your avatar back to the one with the handbag for a month, the one I used to hang **** on you about, and if Kirby wins, I'll put Ty's pic as my avatar for a month.
