Hatton had 2 fights at 147 & I thought he looked pretty good in both. He always loses to Mayweather. Hatton-Collazo is always a 50-50 fight. He's a guy everyone struggles with. Why do people say Hatton looked bad at 147?

Perhaps because he wasn't fighting handpicked bums like Maussa back in the UK?

PAC was just facing better opposition at 147 than he had been at 140 that is all.

Apart from a faded tszyu what other quality opponent at the time did hatton face? Urango? A faded Castillo? Malignagi?

He stepped up to 147 and had a tough fight with calazzo who would give anyone problems including the likes of Williams, cotto and margo.

He got the win and faced the best fighter in boxing at the time in mayweather and put on a decent performance considering the level of opponent he was facing.

So no this bull**** about hatton looked shut at 147 has nothing to do with his size or weight. If anything 147 helped hatton as he didn't have to cut weight something he has struggled with his whole career.

The problem was he was just facing better opposition that made it clearer to observers how goof hatton really is or was at the time.

Welters were too strong for him. He thought he could throw Floyd around and then got the fright of his life on the inside exchanges and Luis beat him IMO.

Compared to 140 - Hatton looked like **** at 147.

Arguably lost ot Collazo in his first attempt at 147. No, he sucked big time.

Collozo was a close call, but I thought he pulled it out. Have not seen it since fight night. Maybe a reviewing is in order.

A quick google search for "Hatton Collazo post fight" turns up a lot of articles that disagree with this thread.

Close call indeed. Had Hatton winning by 1 point but I remember many had Luis winning.
