Will Shane Mosley Dominate Manny Pacquiao on May 7?

The Pacquiao boxing fans are calling this one an easy fight for the pound-for-pound champion, but the true boxing experts are fully aware that Pacquiao could be walking into a nightmare on May 7 in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao has dominated in his recent fights and is a heavy betting favorite, but style makes fights and this time, he's stepping in the ring with a fighter that has the skills, wisdom, knowledge and power to beat the pound-for-pound champion from the Philippines.

Mosley is a counter-puncher with the kind of speed that Pacquiao has never faced before. He also has defensive ability that will create big challenges for the current champion.

Pacquiao can fire punches from many angles and has a tremendous snap at the end of his punch, which creates power. His quick thunder punches have rocked many fighters, including Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito, and he demolished Ricky Hatton with a raw knockout punch.

Those fighters didn't have the strategic defense nor the counter-puncher speed that Mosley has demonstrated over the years in major championship fights. He's a former pound-for-pound champion and has fought against the best in the ring.

Mosley will neutralize a puncher like Pacquiao, and take away his aggressive ability to control the center of the ring.

"His (Mosley) speed, his power, make him dangerous," Roach said. "He's got a great right hand, something we have had trouble in the past getting away from, and he's a very intelligent fighter."

Roger Mayweather, Floyd Mayweather's trainer, said, "I truly believe Mosley will stop Pacquiao. But under the circumstances, this will be a very close fight and Mosley ain't going to lay down."

Mosley is very confident in his abilities and is ready to fight because he know Pacquiao is not a defensive boxer. He's willing to test his skills in the sweet science of pure boxing.

"I have all the physical advantages," Mosley said. "I'm the bigger man, I'm the fastest man he's faced, I have the longer reach, everything is working in my favor."

Mosley has a wingspan of 74 inches, which will become a big advantage for him because it's seven inches longer than the reach of Pacquiao.

Pacquiao fans will be in for a long night if the fight doesn't go past eight rounds.
