its no wonder RTE are showing it. The cost to them is probably minimal since I presume they will use one of the British feeds and it will do very big numbers. As a country, unfortunately, a lot of the country seems to secretly wish we were still in tandem with the Brits. Every weekend thousands fly out to England to watch football while clubs continue to go under in our own league, several of our own national teams games are broadcast by SKY instead of RTE, the british soaps are considered our own. Just last week on George Hooks show they were discussing, and HOPING, that when we default on the bailout we will join up with the sterling. Works on the market in town here have been talked about for 5 years and nothing was done. When the queen says shes calling the 6figure sum for said works is found immediately and the work is to finish within 3 weeks meaning funding and workers from other jobs is gone just to try impress that **** bag. Our lord mayor calling for school to have an half day so they can come into town and see Lizzie give em a wave. Even the fact that our mayor is still called a lord mayor, lord being an English that should have gone when the rest of em did. A big portion of our country still looks up to the Brits. Just now im watching the wind that shakes the barley. Young lads getting killed for speaking their own language. Thousands others will be watching saying christ thats terrible. But come whenever the fukn wedding is theyll be sat down with their egg salad sandwiches and cups of tea comparing the one to her mother in law diana. An auld **** that couldnt keep her legs closed but is still looked upon as a fukn saint. Whole fukn thing pisses me off.

and re magners league, whoever brought that up, i heard it costs 15 k for a full season of that. by all accounts it costs 35k just to film one boxing show

 

And McCloskey is a free agent, promotional wise, at the minute too.

how is this possible . rugby is covered far to much on rte its a ****ing disgrace pro boxing has been totally scrapped .

 

35k to film one boxing event ****ing hell thats a bit rich. In these days they could cut that price down by half. If they offered it to a independent film crew to film it they could get it done cheaper than that and I would guess there would be a lot of them looking to do it as well.
Regarding Warren and a Irish card if its promoted well it will sell no matter who is on the card. No disrespect to the promotors here but with Warrens years in the business he will know how to sell a event and who knows he might come back again. Just look at Maloney when he came over with Dazs pro debut it sold well for the time of the year. So if Warren was to do a bill with the Irish lads here it will sell out the Stadium with ease. I think we will know more in the coming months but he has to showcase the Irish lads he has on his upcoming shows.

I think any big show in Belfast has to be headlined by McCloskey, especially the likes of the Odyssey and even then it would require a big name opponent.

Peters could sort out the under card as he has a good working relationship with Matchroom. So, Rogan could be a co-feature for an Irish Title with Barrett?

By the way, what's the story with big Rogie, anyone any news on this?
