according to that fat guy from that big sports website, Top Rank has offered Marquez a fight in the fall for the welterweight title (if Manny beats Mosley).... i guess they don't give Mosley a chance at beating Pac at all. :-(

I think it has more to do with postering trying to get Floyd off vacation, even though GBP doesn't have Marquez per say anymore they still have some rights to him, maybe TR and GBP can start off a new, lol, doubt it, something more here than meets the eye, some angle Arum is trying. Less to do with fighters and all about business in my opinion, we'll see how it shakes out. Pac should win first, then we'll see.

Arum is trying to tie Pac up with fights to keep him away from Floyd. He says they only focus on one opponent at a time, but Arum got Mosley the fight right after the Margo fight, and he's trying to get pac a Nov fight with Marquez when the Mosley fight hasnt even happened yet.

    It's ridiculous.

forget about marquez this fall... if pac beats mosley, he should just try to unify 147....but i'm sure that won't likely happen.

Top Rank doesnt have any other 147 beltholders, so no, it wont.

youre right, it sucks, floyd doesnt want it, arum doesnt want it either, I think when pac slows down significantly he will look for a huge money fight as a final fight, if its mayweather at that point or somebody else.

The thing is, Mosley, although I am not sure he is able at this point in his career, could really put an end to all of this if he can beat Pac.

Does anyone here know if Arum has options on Shane Mosley if he should win????

If somehow Mosley were to pull off the upset, I sure like Marquez' chances even at the full 147 lbs vs Shane Mosley.
Boxistically and strategy wise Mosley is'nt close to the level of Marquez......and say Mosley would to starch Pacquiao early, Roach might not be so quick to throw Pacquiao right back in with Mosley that a Marquez-Mosley fight would be feasable.

It's possible but I don't see it. Mosley has never KO'ed anyone with one punch. I keep hearing that Shane has the most powerful right hand in the division but when was the last time he KO'ed anyone in the first 6 rounds?

If Pac is able to take punches from Cotto and Margo then I'm confident he can take a couple of punches from Shane too.

Arum has no interest in Pac vs Mayweather. Why try to secure Pac's next fight before the fight with Mosley? The answer is twofold: one so that Marquez doesn't sign the deal with GBP; and two to avoid the Mayweather fight once again.

Arum has all of the ingredients to bake a cake and he's more interested in licking the icing instead.

Shane has more one Punch power than Cotto or Margo, that is certain. It's just about whether this version of Mosley can keep up with Pac. The Mosley that beat Margo, would KO Pac, I have no doubt (hence this fight did not happen in 09).

But now? If he looks like he has over the past year, he may have moments, but he's gonna get beat up.

It sounds strange but it could be good because pac would either rematch him straight away or move down to 140 and take on guys like marquez and bradley there. If he beats mosley he will make them come up. But us a fan of pac I hope he retires without losing any fight from now on.
