When Old Foreman challenged Holy, who was the World Heavyweight Champion in '91, he only won about 3 rounds, but he certainly was a game & determined opponent who gave Peak Holy a great war to remember. How would that 42 year old "Peak" Comeback Foreman do against the Old Holy who was 37 years old when he gave Lewis a very competitive fight in their rematch? I think this would be a close fight, but i'm leaning towards Big George. I think the '91 Foreman would beat the '99 Holyfield. The '99 Holyfield would feel the pressure even more than he did in '91. Foreman might even knock him out late, I consider it quite likely.
I see a war. Maybe Holyfield winning a close UD just being able to dig deep and give that little bit extra.
This favors Foreman in what there aging as fighters actually took from them. Holyfield needs his speed and his activity to beat any version of George Foreman. If you watched Holyfield defeat Big George, he does so primarily with his speed of hand and foot. It is one of the best tactical fights he ever fought. These tools were gone against Lewis. Holyfield had become almost a counter-puncher, needing to pick perfect moments to explode with bursts of punches. His footspeed was almost gone, as well. He was hideously immobile at this stage of his career; The boxer part of his style was fading out because he was needing the puncher, the warrior part of his skillset to cover his badly depleting physical resource. Big George had a terrific left jab, and Lewis won both fights with the punch. He landed something like 35% of the jabs he threw, and George would also score points with his. Lewis was also cautious with his big power in both his fights with Holyfield, and was known as a fighter to wait sometimes too long to cut loose with his best stuff. George would not wait, and he would not miss. I think a Prime Holyfield on his game can beat any version of George. But not on his game, and without his peak physical equipment, and the style match up immediately becomes poison.
Interesting reply. I certainly agree that George would win this fight, but I'm not too certain as to who would win in their primes.
In a peak match, Holyfield has to fight a near perfect fight. I certainly wouldnt predict he would. But if he did, he had the right tools.

Old Foreman never really beat anyone who mattered, other than Moorer while down on the cards. I'm going with Holyfield.
