It will be interesting to see if Mayweather's victory over Marquez gets looked at with a higher standing if this fight goes ahead at 147 and Marquez makes a decent opponent.
What's all this bollocks about Pacquiao being 'too big' for Marquez? They both weighed exactly the same in the ring for their last fights. And if anything, JMM is slightly taller than Manny. Now of course you can say that Pacquiao has been better suited at welterweight and has been faster and fresher due to being a bit younger than Marquez but the fight is still competitive physically. I want to see Pacquiao-Marquez III anyway :deal
This doesn't excite me anymore. Especially not at 147lbs. Marquez doesn't have those type of genetics to succeed that high. Problem is there ain't nothing out there for Manny while Floyd is swerving him. Maybe Ortiz can make himself into a viable contender.
Why does the fight have to be at 147 why not 143. I agree with others, at 147 this is boring at 143 this has me interested.
Why is weight an issue though? They were both exactly the same weight in ring for their last fights? I can see why people think Pacquiao will be too good for Marquez because he's been amazing recently but I don't know why people see weight as an issue? So the fight only has your interest in the slight hope that Manny Pacquiao struggles with the weight? They're both exactly the same size :S
Then you have everyone complaining that Pac is fighting at catchweights I agree with Laz...JMM should just come in at whatever weight suits him best rather than trying to bulk up to 147. Manny's being coming in at 144/145 for his recent fights so JMM should look to come in at 140 or something.
if no floyd still for end of ths year, then marquez is the best option. ortiz and the lkes cant hang with pac,and martinez, williams alverez will be too big for him.
It is an issue because Marquez will inevitably train to weigh in somewhere under the 147 limit but he ain't going to be cutting down to 135. Even though in my opinion that would be advantageous to him. It does make a difference, he doesn't retain the same sharpness by doing that regardless of whether on fight night he rehydrates when he's at 135 to around the same weight.
Bradley just doesn't have the frame to move up and be successful. He isn't/wouldn't be the same fighter at welterweight IMO. Sometimes guys don't have the physicality to jump in weight and Bradley is one of those fighters. He's perfect for 140 and could probabily make 135. He's rather like Marvin Hagler in that sense. He should stay and dominate at 140.
Although I don't think it'll be as close as the other fights (Pac is more accomplished than 3 years ago) it is still Pacs most intriguing fight out there - PBF aside. You can't argue that he doesn't deserve a rematch either
If this fight were to happen at welter it would completely overshadow their first two, disputed, fights and for all the wrong reasons. Pac could potentially batter JMM at the weight. That's not a conclusion to what should've been a great trilogy it's an embarassment.
**** mayweather. Pacman/Marquez III is ****in MEGA:deal The atmosphere & build up to this fight will be titanic & no doubt the title will be "Once and for All" How anyone can say this fight don't interest them is a joke:smoke
