Since I can't watch the video, and you're a credible poster, I'll go with your assessment.

I think Diaz will be taking a backward step in his mma style if he improves his boxing game in the areas you mentioned. Those are the key areas in which a mma fight is different from boxing. Wider head movement sets him up for head kicks. Training where the clinch is illegal puts him a step behind in the game where it is of utmost importance.

As far as the jab is concerned, Diaz' is pretty good for mma, but it could be much better.

Diaz is going to get embarrassed by any top notch boxer. It is different game.

 

This vid seems to be about 3yrs old maybe more but, you get the picture. It is sparring vs brother nate and not an actual boxer like the original video but, his pathetic speed and footwork is evident here as well.

im going for nick diaz whether he wins or loses you gotta respect that he has guts to get in the ring with either martinez or lacy.

 

He has balls for sure, unlike Couture who calls out Toney for his MMA rules first fight but not accept a offer made by Toney promoter for a fight in Queensberry rules for the same ammount of money that he receives in the MMA fight, wins or loses.

 

yea bro i like boxers, kickboxers and mixed martial artists but yea man it would be a loooooooong night for couture and i reckon toney would wreck randy's face. However james toney did start the boxing vs mma sh*t and he got paid 1 million to lie down for 30 secs which is a pretty good deal on his part.

 

Toney did the calling out to be fair. Randy has never claimed to be able to 'whoop' a boxer at boxing in the same way Toney was running his mouth about MMA fighters.

Well please learn to construct a sentence properly; what you wrote sounded like you were saying that Lesnar's wrestling skills were limited which is obviously ridiculous.

In any case if Brock didn't have his wrestling he wouldn't be a good fighter - NO ****! If you took away most fighter's primary strength they wouldn't be any good. And to hold the first Mir loss against him is stupid. It was his first legit fight and he looked like the business before getting flustered by an odd call from the ref.

Btw its worth remembering that Randy didn't use good wrestling to defeat Toney - he actually used shitty wrestling. That ankle pick he used is never seen passed high school because a barely competent wrestler can defend against it.

 

Diaz is just a bad striker, simple as. Overeem doesn't seem to have an adaption problem between disciplines.
