Will Pac-Mosley do more PPV buys than Pac-Cotto?

How could I forget about that? Floyd knows how to bring strong reactions out of people. He made the usually "well-behaved" SHane Mosley pull off a WWE stunt. Floyd also looked bat**** nervous and even a little fearful when Mosley came into the ring, so everyone who bought $-Marquez was immediately sold on a $-Mosley matchup. YOu already know those who watched $-Marquez told everyone who didn't watch the fight about the Mosley WWE incident.

I remember a few Mexicans, still bitter about $ clowning on Juan Marquez and making them lose bets, getting out of their seats and shouting about Floyd being a punk and fighting no one, he should fight Mosley, when Shane did WWE.

To the casual fan, names alone are responsible for most of the PPV buys. When it was Mayweather vs Mosley, it was mainly the Mayweather name that generated the PPV buys. Since that fight, Mosley's name is more popular. Between that and Pacquiao being popular himself, this fight will quite well!

That may have happened, but Mosley doesn't bring in no ethnic fanbase similar to antonio, so I take that into account when thinking about this fight.

If fighting $ helped Shane so much, why did he do a ridiculously low PPV in his fight immediately after Floyd?

I know casual fans that are wondering why a so called legend aka emmanuel is fighting someone who just got their AZZ beat from ringpost to ringpost last year by the so called legend's rival.

:thumbsup exactly man. People were begging for this fight to happen. Ra Rugged Man was calling Floyd out for not fighting Mosley. That fight was very marketable

Mosley has his own fanbase, hes been in a lot of big fights. I dont think fanbase brings that much buys anyways, its mainstream popularity and Mosley has a bigger mainstream name than Cotto or Margo. MAB/Morales has huge ethnic followings, yet between MAB/Pac/Morales/ they only ever managed to crack 350k tops, thats the filipino and mexican ethnic following combined.

Their trying to hit the american market, 200mil+ of em and I think the american public recognises both Mosley & Pac's names and have no clue on how past it Mosley is...but it gets the interest. I think ethnic following makes up for about 200k buys, 300k at most.

I predict about 1.2-1.5mil for this fight.

And we all know casual fans and sports analysts that are calling Floyd a coward...what's your point? One guy's keeping busy and the other guy keeps pushing his court cases back.

Would it have made you and the casual fans feel better if he had fought Berto?

Mosley isn't a main attraction, and neither is Sergio Mora (who's nothing in terms of marketability). Mosley with a superstar is a pretty good combo, and it's only natural that he's more popular by the second time around.

If you watched the Mosley Mora fight, chances are you aren't a 'casual' fan. My definition of the casual fan is someone who buys only the huge fights if he's interested and catches free fights with popular names every now and again.

One thing I didn't take into account though is that this fight is on Showtime. I don't know how well they've marketed the fight. I listen to the radio on my commute and I haven't heard anything about it, but HBO fights at least advertise there. Haven't seen a billboard, either.. I dunno, I still think the fight will do really good. Didn't Pac do 700k against Clottey?

You're missing the point. If you're selling yourself off as a so called legend, it's only natural that people will hear about it and have higher expectations of you. Casual fans know how silly Shane looked in his most recent fight that they're aware of.

Sports analysts and their opinions on $ has no bearing towards the public is perceiving emmanuel to fight a "harmless" opponent.

People who hate this fight will just probably stream it online. So i guess 1 Mill max. It's nice to watch Pac but choosing Mosley as his opponent is not too nice.

Bob Arum is trying to hype this fight by stating it will break PPV records.........

......unfortunately for him and Pacquiao, he's setting himself up for a huge dissapointment.
When you make that kind of statement, if this fight does one buy under 1 million, it will be viewed at as a failure.

I say it does abouit 800K.....just above Clottey numbers.
