Super sharp Scouser Stephen Smith looking spectacular and strong

Its a tough one- genuinely a 50-50 contest.

I thought that Simpson edged the first one despite being unimpressive. I think Smith is a beautiful boxer and Joe has done a sterling job getting him in good shape. Its a tough one to call I don't nessacarily think that the person who starts the bout better will be the winner. I'd expect a fight like this to have periods where both get the better of the action.

I think that the home advantage will be pretty pivotal here- not because Simpson can't deal with it, but because it will sway the judges in the close rounds and I think there will be a good few of these.

The one thing I will say is that Smith WILL NOT win if he stands toe to toe and obviously the guys around his weight like Crolla and Murray lean very heavily towards fighting on the inside. This might be a factor. There are a lot of intangibles in this fight.

All said and done I think we'll see Smith get another controversial decision. I don't think either will prove to be overly superior and I'd imagine at the conclusion once again John will find himself able to argue against another injustice. Look for Simpson to start better then last time have the better of most of the heavier exchanges but just find himself occasionally off-footed or slightly out of range. These moments, and the crowds reaction to them will sway the judges slightly in his favour.

Ive sorted the ticket situation i can pick up on the door.

Smith and Simpson look in great shape as you can see from the Smith pics just absolutely ripped both came in about half a pound under the limit.

David Price looked in great shape and is just an enormous man but his opponent is Raphael Butler is also a big lad a bit soft but certainly not in bad shape and he was a decent sized bloke probably the best conditioned at least aesthetically as Price has faced came in at 265 as opposed to Price's 245 i think so expect him to test Price a bit.

Sorry no pics Slap i tried but the place was only a small pub and it was packed out.

Side note if Paul Smith can make Middle he will be big at the weight this time round.

 

David Price is a big guy. Massive legs and heavy set.
