Funny. This is one main argument of the Klitschko-haters. They are too big and so they constantly win. The are not allowed to reap the benefit of their height.
In other weightclasses it´s fair as long you make weight..

If you can make the weight then it's fair game. Simple as. It doesn't diminish a single thing.

Bam Bam Rios is big and physical at lightweight but that advantage would disappear at JWW.

I agree with most though that as long as they can make weight, all is good.

Its hard o say though, I used to not like Pwill because I felt like the only reason he beat guys was his freakish size. Same could be said for the klitchkos to be honest. Theyre fights would be a lot more competitive if they were 5 inches shorter.

His advantages will start going alway at WW. He is going to be very big and strong at JWW. A small pressure fighter is a bad pressure fighter that's for sure

i personally wouldn't come into a fight dehydrated and would only fight at a weight i know i can make without seriously dehydrating. If the other person decides to do that then its there problem.

Its not really safe is it for both parties. Its not really safe to rehydrate 15-20lbs the night before a fight and its not really fair to put someone in with a guy who has a 20lbs weight advantage. Thats the same as a super lightweight being put in with a middle weight. Didn't gatti do it one time and give someone brain damage ?

fights should happen at the weight where it should be, not 2 weight divisions above.

Ironically the risk is the otherway around. The fighter de-hydrating supposedly has less water around the brain to help prevent injury. This is the primary argument for the 24 hour weigh-in so it can allow fighters to replenish in order to help prevent the brain injury.

The problem is than not every fighters bodies react the same and some fighters are more equal than others. The optimum re-hydration weight is 6 lbs. but some fighters "Clottey" can re-hydrate as much as 20 lbs. That can be a three division weight advantage.

Monitored weight and sameday weigh-ins are the only way to control safety and weight division fainess.

Yeah Gatti did it to a former world champion from maine, Joey Gamache. He was a good fighter but didn't have the size or power to keep the much bigger gatti off of him. Joey fought his ass of but Gatti was just a destoryer in there, it does make me respect the rule they put in place after about not letting guys weigh more than 20lbs above the fighting weight on fight night

So then we could say a guy like Lennox Lewis was to big for HW too, he is only 1 inch shorter than the Klits! and Lance Whitaker is one inch taller! and not to forget Henry Akiwande was 6.7"!
But i do agree that some fighters are (and have been) freaks of nature. PW, Hopkins (as middleweight), Canera, Valuev, just to mention a few!

Donaire is one of the smallest guys in his division? He was outweighed by 9lbs in his last fight.
