Khans Performance wasnt that bad against mccloskey rewatching it.

I don't think he looked super great or anything but it wasn't that bad in my whole hearted opnion, khan did land some good shots on the inside which shows he's learned a thing or two, i think if the fight went another couple of rounds khans class would have shown, the first 6 rounds of the malanaggi fight seemed competitive but then khan broke paulie down i think the same thing would have happened to mccloskey.

 

He looked God awful against an admittedly awkward but average opponent.

 

Rewatching him on the HBO card (ortiz-Berto) i said exactly the same thing. I think people we just a little pissed with the stoppage. It wasnt his best performance by a long way, but it certainly wasnt dreadful

 

Very much agreed. He did what he had to do against a very akward guy.

Khan did fight a little on the inside, well a lot more than McCloskey (I don't think McCloskey did at all actually). He seems to have great belief in his body shots now, which is a good thing.

 

It was an okay performance, would have stopped in another 2 rounds to my estimation.

 

i dont buy into the bull**** that mccloskey was trying to weather the storm if that was really true he would have got off his back and made something happen after the first 2 rounds, khan looked ragged early on but after the 3 round he began finding a little rhythm

 

I'm the same it was an ok performance against a slippy southpaw with good head movement.

 

I dont think there's been a fighter in history that has gone in with the gameplan to lose the first half of the fight clearly without throwing hardly any punches

 

He was absolutely awful considering some gimps rate him as a top p4p fighter.
Very scrappy

 

Who are these people you speak of? Because I've never mentioned him in that category and I'm probably the biggest Khan fan on the board.

You're a massive Khan fan, but you're not an idiot, same can't be said for some others...

 

He was far too sloppy. A better fighter would've gave him serious problems with that performance.

Not even a C- for that showing.

 

I don't really read too much into 'marking time' type of fights. The worrying thing for me for Amir is his flaws were so apparent again even against a B/C level opponent. He's still circling too wide and his hands are moving faster then his feet, which gives him very poor balance and courses him to overextend, he keeps doing that and he's gonna get himself knocked out again, especially when he faces someone who can punch with him or catch him with something big on the end of his combinations. Another thing is he has to stop raising his head and going back in a straight line at the end of clinches and when he pulls his opponents head down. All it takes is for one big 'blind' swing and he'll get caught.

 

you cant be at your best all the time.........all comes down to a bit of a silly stoppage for my money.........

should have allowed the corner to have 60 seconds on the cut.......thats what people are pissed of about imo......

but on that it was a **** fight, khan mayaswell just fought prescott....same outcome more than likely, instead of fighting someone who was no threat even if he had a headgaurd on.
