I saw the 'Home Setup' thread and it reminded me that I took about a billion photos of the removable heavybag stand I made. I told someone at work what I was planning and he seemed interested, so I sort of made a step-by-step guide for when he wanted to make one.

Since I've forgotten who it was, I'll post the photos here just in case it's of any interest to someone.

Fabricated the 'socket' part from four lengths of plate, after taking measurements of the box section I'd be using.

Welded sprags on to give the concrete something to grip, before painting it with Hammerite.

    Concreted it in.

Made the post itself with a few cheek plates to strengthen it and give it some kind of fighting chance against my awesome power.

I cut a notch out of a slab and attached a nylon loop to it. This way, whenever we want the bag out of the way I just lift the post out and drop the removable slab piece in place.

The best bit about the dramatic final photo is the lighting.

Might want to change that bolt a the top to a screw in. It could wear through.

Which bolt? The eyebolt that the bag hangs from?
