Big thing with the ams here.... Your doing too much in terms of volume and not enough in terms of intensity. Greg 3-4 hours training? Are you mental? If your going to run, run in the morning. 30-40 mins 4 days a week is not good. And it shows in your performances that you are lacking the ability to raise the pace to an uncomfortable level for your opponents. I like the way you box and you show promise but you remind me of me when I was an am early days.... All the moves, but not enough substance. Swap at least two of your runs for high intensity stuff, meaning no more then 4 x 3 min of sprints or running at a super high intensity. You guys running for an hour? Why do this- its un specific to your needs as a sportsman. If you don't believe me, train this way for one fight and see what happens. 20 rounds sparring? I presume conditioned stuff? In terms of objective boxing- you parry the jab etc etc.... Thats good but don't get used to throwing 20 punches a round and posing.... you need to mimic the activity required to win bouts at least three times a week in your sessions. You need a clear objective and to put more thought into your training. Why spar when yu are fatigued from a 2-3 hour session training? You'll throw less punches with worse form and not get your workrate to a sufficient level. An hours conditioning? Too much. Seriously if you can do an hour of any activity it is not conditioning you in the right way. Lads you've got a great oppertunity to get yourselves ahead of your opposition by taking on advice of people who've been there and done it- but without sounding like an old grandpa- judging by the workouts you've posted your not understanding the concepts we talk about here. Greg I think you've got potential but I can tell you now that the cause for your limited success thus far is the way you are training. Way, way too much volume and not enough intensity. Trust uncle jeff.
