I spoke on them as well, but I just added another one. You can disagree if you want, but I stand by what I said.

 

But all you've been able to do is mention an article that was on HBO's business practices, NOT Haymon. So where are all these scathing write ups attacking the powerful black man? :huh

 

Look at his current roster. Who is getting blasted when they lose?

Cotto lost to MArgo and Pac, but not one bad word was said about Cotto in the media.

Margo got caught cheating, lost to Mosley, and then was instantly forgiven for being beaten up by pac.

Kelly Pavlik lost to BHOP and Martinez, but there has been an outpouring of support for his comeback now.

Juanma just got stopped in a fight he was to win easy, and no one has said anything against him.

See the pattern here?

Not to the exclusion of other reasons why he can be disliked, it seems that the 'rope' is much longer for certain people than it is for others. I don't doubt that the guy is responsible for sullying his own name but I also don't doubt that race is a factor, because lets face it, from boxing to the president it just is.

 

It might also have to do with them being non white fighters who shut their mouths and do whatever Arum tells them to do.

 

That's really all I am saying. We do not live in a country without issues with race, like some would like to believe.

It isnt nearly as bad as it used to be, but there are still issues to work on. Plain and simple.

Berto got blasted a little, but a lot was due to his getting easy fights for several years now.

No one blased Williams in the press for his loss.

And how many people in the press have said anything against that? Indeed, there were many articles that claimed that Margo "redeemed" himself with his "gutsy" performance against Pac.

I got to agree with Lance some here. These guys you posted especially margarito. The guy was crucified worse than anyone in recent memory and he deserved it he is a cheating scumbag.

in fact, id say margarito has been blasted worse than anyone in boxing since... resto. Otriz also has had a lot of criticism recently. Again, he deserved it.
