Risky moves come with a risk, obviously. However, Jones is not just pulling these moves out of his ass. Jones is in a great camp, and experiments against top notch competition. I'm not going to say one of these moves won't come back to haunt him, but he is attempting them after quality rehearsals.

I agree with everything you stated and have said the same thing previous (before the Shogun fight). I too was wrong about the shogun fight. I remember Popkins making the comparison to Paul Williams, a huge(for his wieghtclass) long armed fighter who took unnecessary risks and eventually paid the price.

Im no hater of Jones, but I think its a question of when Jon Jones will pay for his recklessness as faber has...twice (against Tyson Griffin as well as Mike Brown)

Because of this, to be great, Jones will either have to fight through a losing battle at some point and find a way to win showing his resilience in the process like Fedor and Anderson Silva have. Or lose and refine his style to come back better like GSP has. I think Jones may have the tools to be great but we have not seen proof of these intangibles yet, it will be interesting to see.

Wow people, have you actually seen how he wins his fights? He takes a guy down, tires him out and then pounds or submits them. And if he tries the risky stuff once or twice in a fight its more of a danger to his opponent than to him.

well in some ways jones could be compared to a young gsp. Gsp too was 23 when he got his first ufc title shot, but he lost to matt hughes.

Both are similar in many ways, both are athletically gifted, and both are really ground fighters that have great standup, gsp has become cautious while jones still hasnt had reason to be.

I wrote this previously(before the shogun fight, becauase I thought jones was in over his head in that fight) that gsp came back from his first loss better than ever how will jones do when he first loses?

I mean a real loss, where he is actually beaten by his opponent instead of the DQ loss he has which I thought was ridiculous in the first place considering he only landed 2 illegal elbows in quick succession and was about to stop his opponent prior to them, but since after the elbows his opponent (Hammil) couldn't continue the fight the bout was ruled a dq.

Faber and Jones are similar in ways but I dont think Jones would do something as dumb as Faber did in the 1st Mike Brown fight. Remember Faber jumped in with an elbow and had his face facing the oppostion direction so he ran into a right hand that he never seen and he didnt see it because he bad a awful decision. Now I believe Urijah is an intelligtent fighter but he does make some bad choices. I dont see Jon Jones closing his eyes or looking away and running into a big shot.
