I watched highlights of his Mora fight and it got me thinking.

Manny does not fight like Mora at all. People point out that Shane looked horrible in his last outings but these guys dont resemble Manny at all.

Mora was a taller and bigger opponent, actually very big for 154 and fought a spoilers kind of fight. Manny by no means is taller and bigger. He also isnt gonna run and jab all night. Also the highlight footage showed Mora landing his best shots while infighting, I doubt Manny will do much infighting here. Shane still through with lots of power late, I dont know if he gasses as much as he is accused of. Manny certainly doesnt have the kind of size advantage to lay on him and tire him out.

Mayweather is also a different fighter from Manny. Shane hurt him early and he held. If Manny gets caught he is not gonna hold, well he hasnt in the past. I imagine if Floyd threw back rather than hold he would have gotten nailed again. Manny will get hit at one point or another, his reaction will determine the outcome. Also Floyd is way more adept with his defense and counters. Manny will more likely be coming straight ahead or at an angle but more or less the aggressor. Floyd had him come in to be countered.

Also Mosley has really only struggled against bigger fighters who utilize their jab and fight a defensive fight. Forrest was bigger and fought behind a jab. Wright was bigger and fought behind a jab. Mora was bigger and taller and fought a defensive fight. Mayweather fought a defensive fight.

Manny was troubled most by 1-2's thrown by Marquez. He has also been plagued at times by body punchers. The most hes been shook up recently was a body shot by Margarito. Mosley however is not a jabber and his right is not straight but an over hand. However, his left hook is very dangerous the Vargas fight is my evidence.

I still think Manny wins a comfortable 12 round decision but I dont think Mora and Mosley are good determiners for this fight

sura losing to mayweather was expected, and mora is weird to fight against. But what we can tell from shane in those fights is that his stamina will decline, pac has fast feet and fast hands, he wont be there to get hit like margarito was, mosley might get a few good shots in, but from what we can see pac can handle the welterweight strength, his chin is very good. So either mosley ko's him with a rahman like punch or opens a huge cut early. after a few rounds his stamina will drop and his chances will decrease, meanwhile manny's stamina is great he will fight at the same pace from early on and land a lot of shots on mosley> beating> stoppage in the middle rounds. prime mosley would give pac hell, im pretty positive off that but this old version will only be game for a few rounds.

a good assessment, I dont think this fight is a walk over but I dont see Shane winning, I do see him having a moment or two like the Floyd fight

  4. Mora and Mayweather couldn't be more different than Pacquiao and the fight will not play out anything like those fights.

Mora fought a negative, defensive fight and Mosley could only do so much with that awkward style.

Mayweather.... well.... he's Mayweather, what could Mosley do after Floyd figured him out?

A boxer puncher, and an old one especially is going to get foiled by faster backfoot guys and defensive specialists almost every time. Distinct style disadvantage.

Mosley will do better than his last two fights I believe. He's much better off with a guy that will trade with him like Margarito did, but Pac is so much faster than Margarito. Pac should win this fight, we know when he gets hurt by a punch because he reacts by coming right back with flurries. Mosley has good body shots and that's what he needs to invest in from round 1, its the only way he can slow down Pac enough to catch him later. Body shots early, working his jab up and down like he did against Margarito and straight as possible right hands, the south paw killer. I give Mosley a better chance than most, but I still don't think it will be enough, but it could be. Pac's coming off a tough fight, Mosley has nothing to lose and everything to gain, if he fights like it, well it could be a really good fight.

No. Styles make fights and despite age, Mosley is bad stylistically for Manny, while Manny's style by and large is one that Mosley has excelled against throughout his career.

Nope! Lot's of unrelated to boxing stuff was going on in his life than. Divorce, hiding cash from the IRS and Bad media. Shane's cool now and is ready to start a new phase of his career by spanking Manny's ass!

Stylistically they show pretty much nothing since neither Mora nor Mayweather fight anything like Pacquiao.

However, they do show to me that Shane is hesitant, his reactions aren't what they one were and that he tires a bit earlier. At a few points he was throwing pitty-pat shots against Mora which is something I've never seen from him.

He can still have one punch power as he showed (breifly) against Floyd but he needs to be able to land more than one or two big shots against an elite opponent like Floyd or Manny.

Some interesting views here - good sensible stuff. I don't think Mosley is the body-puncher was at Lightweight. He seems to head-hunt far more these days although I'm sure he could still bang to the body if he chose too. However, he lacks head movement and he often defends by moving straight back and extending his left arm as if to put the other guy off and make him think there's a counter coming. I think Pac will use his fast feet to follow Mosley in and keep punching with those rapid-fire combo's we're used to seeing now before spinning off before Mosley can time him. For me, Mosley's only chance is landing something huge early (a la Mayweather) and closing the show. Once Pac hits his stride he'll put Mosley on the defensive and I see a mid-round stoppage, possibly a towel.

Expect to see Mosley do a lot of body punching in this fight,More then we used to.

Everyone saw what Margarito did to Manny in the 6th RND,Mosley already mentioned this before.
