    Well according to the article on this site it was the California commision making those demands and not Ward. If that is in fact the case all of you bitching at Ward trying to snake himself homefield advantage need to stfu.

    suprise suprise, they give him home turf AGAIN and that isnt enough, what exactly is so important to Ward about having home town judges and refs? Well we all know what but id like to hear why Ward and his team feel its so vital.

    I honestly don't know a whole hell of a lot about Europe. My key is that I don't pretend to know things I don't and won't let my ignorance color my perceptions.

    The champ can fight where he wants, but if he wants to get love from Americans, he has to fight in Las Vegas or Atlantic City, preferably Vegas. We're indoctrinated from a young age that Vegas is the "Mecca of Boxing" and have a hard time acknowledging those who don't headline there.

    The judges aren't going to matter much. This fight is either Ward wins by a very wide decision(most likely) or Abraham wins by stoppage. The ref might play a role, but I suspect Ward will probably not do much inside fighting on this one just because it is risky with Abraham's one-shot power and Ward has the size advantage anyway. Regardless, this is dumb, the Super Six has already had enough problems, get the judges and the ref changed and move on.

    I had noticed that, its funny how people think it is a bigger better win if its in America or Vegas for some odd reason. Its like C Johns win over JM Marquez is almost disregarded as it was in Indonesia.

    I think the thing with Ward and the S6 is that all of the original line up have taken it in turns to travel except Ward and that does seem to say something

    This is like Manchester United insisting they play all their Champions League games at home with an English referee and linesmen

    They should have placed this fight in Las Vegas. Even though it's about the same distance from Oakland, having it in another state would have removed some of the stigma. Ironically, I think they kept it in SoCal due to the large Armenian community which is expected to sell out the arena and cheer for AA. After all, California has much higher taxes than Nevada.

    Another option would be to meet in Atlantic City, but who would sell tickets?

    Hometown=Fighting in your home town or city

    Home=Fighting in your own country.

    Ward may not ALWAYS fight in his hometown(although he normally does) but he will still be having all his S6 fights at home, ie in the USA. Distance is irrelevant. Froch fought Kessler in Denmark which was an away fight for Froch and a home fight for Kessler, even though from the UK to Denmark is less than one hour flight.

    Ward is an American so any fight anywhere in the USA for him is a 'home' fight assuming the opponent is not from the USA

    Close, but not quite. It would be like ManU playing only in English stadiums, but not neccesarily their own. Oakland to LA is 400+ miles and carries a geographic rivalry; it's still California, though.

    You can't just change the venue at the last second. They've sold tickets and what not.

    Also, Goossen has come out and basically said that Sauerland is full of it so let's see what happens.
