Why hasn't Bob Arum treated Nonito like the star he is?

Is Bob Arum too stupid to see Nonito Donaire is worth investing major money in?

Nonito asked to be on Mannys undercards, and/or do co-main events with Manny Pacquiao, for the pinoy fans. Why didn't Bob Arum give in to those demands?

And Bob Arum has been quoted saying he'd line him up against Rigondeaux, Lopez or Gamboa and that Nonito "wouldn't beat those guys".. is he senile? :think

Losing Nonito to GBP may eventually become Arums biggest blunder.

I remember reading that Pacquiao doesn't want nonito on his undercard and doesn't go to his fights. As it will hurt his popularity at home. Could be a rumour. As I think nonito trained with him at the wild card and they are friends. Not being on the same card could be all about business for Pac and Arum

Being on Mannys card would've been a great promoting platform for Nonito, he was robbed of that and had to fight very sturdy fighters on Showtime cards instead.

I was thinking in the same line, cannibalism of promotional efforts and popularity of both Filipinos. Arum wants to milk one cash cow dry before putting full commitment to his next one :hey

If you already have the Phillipino boxing market sown up with Pacquiao there is no need to try and reach out to that market anymore by putting anothing Pinoy fighter on the card. Instead it would have been better to put him on other high profile cards that lacked a Phillipino presence so you're appealing to the Pinoy audience for a card that they wouldn't normally buy.

That being said, TR hasn't done the best job in promoting Nonito - he has proper star-material and TR never capitalised on all the opportunities that they had to build his name up.

edit - but the Montiel fight was a very good step in the right direction.

Bob has NEVER been able to accommodate more than one BIG STAR.

This is EXACTLY why PBF left Bob.

Because you have to prove to the big wigs you're a star. This star thing is not given on the platter. It is earn. Donaire has to continue impressing the BOSS. Simple as that.

I think long term he was a little short sighted with Donaire.

TR dogs the **** out of Nonito and they could careless about building his career. It's definitely some "Nonito hating" going on from Manny and his crew. They want no parts of this guy. The wives even hate each other.

I thought arum was progressing him nicely. He got greedy too early in his career an it will hurt his momuntum that he was building.
