Fighters that you think truly deserved to be in the ring with him.
They should be active during the time period and considered top of the line.

What skill set did they have that you thought would create problems ?

    Cotto and Pacquiao.

I don't see Cotto posing much of problems tbh.
Would be interesting to see how Floyd would react had he been caught with a solid hook tho.

Pacquiao, well, not that he would pose serious problems prime for prime, but right now, I see Pac dominating the early rounds.
His workrate is simply insane. Floyd never faced anything like that.
I think the decisive factor would be how Floyd would adjust and time Pac and how Pac would adjust to that adjustment by Floyd.
I wish to be surprised ala Floyd-Mosley however where Floyd was the aggressor.

There are no neutral fans if you criticize floyd, you only end up being a Pacquiao fan.

    Floyd's fan's brains don't operate deeper than A vs B.

I used to be a neutral fan. At that time I didn't really buy that Floyd was ducking anyone.

Then came his antics with Pacman. I am no longer a neutral fan, but that was caused by his ducking of Pac and how he has gone about it.

I'm not really sure about necessarily "ducking", however, he's been inactive and hasn't fought as many quality fighters as he's should've, especially in the last 40 months, and for that he does not deserve the passes he gets from his idolaters.

For certain opponents he didn't face, take Tszyu for example, I don't really put much of the blame on him. Tszyu was a Showtime fighter, Mayweather an HBO fighter, and it wasn't exactly the type of money-maker (Lewis-Tyson) that makes both sides come together. However, by the end of 2007, he had become one of the biggest stars in the sport. You can get more of the big fights once you're in this position, of course people want to fight you because it's more exposure and money, and Floyd has only fought twice since then.

I blame both Team Mayweather and Team Cotto (and Bob Arum of course) for that fight not materializing in 2008 when it would've been best (not in 2005, that's much more on Arum). Neither side appeared that interested, and we didn't hear much about any serious negotiations from either side. However, given Cotto's opposition in 2008-09, I'm more inclined to give him a pass. At least he gave more of the fans some good fights against tough opposition.

There were a lot of great pressure and infighters that would have given Floyd big problems. It's not about ducking though. It was always about money, no matter what the fighters says, money is the most important part of the decision process, so it becomes about making the perception of being a great fighter with as little risk as possible. The end purpose is to increase the marketability and overall net worth.

Of course there are some fighters that are pure bruisers and thrive on trading punches but they too will eventually cave in to the business decision over proving themselves in the ring.

Younger mosley, Cotto, and Pac. Should have fought all those guys if he really wanted to cement himself as the best welter. He could have fought Margarito also.

I didn't bother to read it. He ducked

He fought Judah(who lost to Baldomir) and then fought Baldomir, when He could've made the same to fight Margarito. Mayweather is scared to death about losing. He knows he won't be able to handle losing...He can barley handle winning. :hi:

Neutral fans, Pac fans, even Floyd fans (who are being true to themselves) know that Floyd is ducking Manny Pacquiao.
