This takes the prize as the most distasteful post this month.
    What exactly is your problem?

He's given liberties for being old. He acts like a ****, so he's a ****. He has been taking every opportunity recently to have a go at Ali. If someone who wasn't decrepit did this, they'd be called on it. It's double standards.

I posed this very question a while back on here only I asked how much credit Vitali would get if he beat a Lewis who had been off 6 years. I got nothing but mumbles and excuses from the Johnson fans. In that scenario Klitschko would get ZERO credit the fight would be called a disgrace.

Now, I think Johnson is way overrated but I agree with you on this as far as significance goes he is by far the #1 Heavyweight of all time. This was a great video btw... :good

I have been on this site for close to a year and have yet to see you contribute anything to it other than snide one-liners and insults. Absolutely nothing. There are other posters I often disagree with and find distasteful in their comments, but they have at least posted some insights, facts or points of view that are worth thinking about. Not so with you.

I have to second McVey. What's eating you?

I'm also a ****, but I don't hide behind my age and expect a free pass. I make very little contribution, and when I do, it's the same old stuff, and only ever on boxers I like.

Just saw this post. You gave me a character assessment. I summed this up in my usual succinct way.

I have never known B B to be abusive towards anyone.

    If he thinks
Dempsey is the greatest thing since sliced bread what the f**k is that to you?

He has contributed a hell of a lot to this forum, more than me, and certainly more than you.

You have no justification for your behaviour towards him, other than you don't agree with his opinion on a certain boxer.

From where I am sitting ,there is only one c**t here, and that's you.

You owe him an apology, but I doubt you will be big enough to offer it.

    No agenda here from me.
For the record I think Ali beats every heavyweight that ever lived.

Would anyone here actually tip Lewis to win this fight?

Or what about Lewis Holyfield III?

It says an awful lot about jeffries standing that he was even given a chance doesnt it?

I am a **** indeed, but I don't owe him an apology. He posts some random tit bit facts, but apart from that he either dick rides Dempsey/Greb or takes every opportunity to downplay Ali. From any poster who isn't known as an 'oldie' they'd be named and shamed as the nuthugger and hater they are, but he isn't because he's a grave skipper. Simples.

I'm an oldie, but I hope no one gives me any slack because of it.
Just because B B is a huge Dempsey fan and not particularly, one of Ali's, that justifies you abusing him ?
I don't know you ,cant remember any of your previous posts to be honest, but reading your last couple ,I tend to agree with your assessment of your self.

aye, but I don't act all high and mighty because I'm 'old' unlike Messyr Burt. It's double standards, and he acts like a ****. My grievance.

It is a funny thing actually. It wasnt really until about the Olympics that Ali as the Greatest of all time became the standout popular choice as teh greatest of all time.

In fact, i can remember how often I used to be laughed at and argued against by saying that Prime Ali woud beat Tyson, when he was champ. Tyson was to fast and hit too hard, most used to say.

Nowadays, criticising Ali is like committing a sin. It is hard for me to argue otherwise, i have been consistent in my ranking of him as number one, and I am confident that he beats all before him, with the greatest challenge to his supremacy being the current behemoths, which i am confident that he would breeze past, or at least edge past in fights taht are closer than most expect. I will say that too many people forget how great others were. Prime Ali (imo) never lost but the version who most see as prime ali (70s Ali) did. I think that this Ali loses quite a few fights to many of the all time greats. Prime Ali would be less likely to and might even go through history undefeated.

Anyway back to the point of the rant, I was wondering when everyone else thinks that Muhammed Ali became considered as the Greatest and when it became unreasonable to criticise such a choice. I would say a year or so after Atlanta. does anyone else suggest other times.

I think anybody who criticize somebody for not having him the Greatest is being woefully narrow minded.

That said, I dont believe much can be said to rate him lower than #2, and have never seen a proper defense for rating him lower than #3.

Not having him #1 is perfectly reasonable, even if I disagree. Joe Louis was a damn stud.

Most people were caught up in Tyson's hype, btw. Most hyped fighter of all time. He got people so excited, and was so devastating, people were desperate to believe he was the best ever.
