Yeah, so Lewis stopped Bowe at the the Olympics...I'm wondering if the same would have happened when both fighters were at their peak. Lets say...hmmm, the Bowe that beat Holyfield in their first fight and the Lewis that beat Bruno.

That was a stoppage in the ammies. I always thought that it was a weak ass stoppage. Bowe would have given Lewis all he wanted in his prime. IMO, Bowe was the sturdier of the two.

i think so as well. if bowe would have found the heart he showed in the second golota fight, i think he could have beaten anyone of the era

For a long time I thought prime for prime Lewis would win. He defentaly had the better career of the two. However I have changed my poistion on this matter. I always felt that as pros up to 95 and into 96. Had they meet Bowe would have won. His trashinfg the WBC belt into the trash can was one of the biggest bonehead moves in the history of sports.
Bowe in his short prime is as good as any heavyweight there has been he has good size can punch and has a very good chin. I think it is a compitive fight while it lasts but Bowe's chin is the diffrance. Bowe in 10 rounds.

I think people read into the amateur loss too much. As said, a somewhat premature stoppage. Gonzalez (The Cuban) beat both Lewis and Bowe in the amateurs but Bowe waxed his ass as a pro.

Anyway, even though he was stopped Bowe was just about impossible to legitimately stop. Guy was tough.

I go with Bowe, with both at their very best. obviously Lewis had the better career, while Bowe pretty much self destructed before too long.

Yes in deed. Just to add, Bowe handled a better version of Holyfield than Lewis did.

THat Bowe beats the Lewis who had a tough time with Bruno.... That is if he could forgot abut the ko in the olympics(in a healthy way)... Bowe was more well rounded that Lewis and seemed to improve much faster than Lewis (thanks to Futch).... I think there would be some fireworks early though... Lewis has always been able to spark guys out early and i think hed try and do that here.. He drops Bowe Early and has him in trouble but Bowe survives.. And ends up getiting back in the fight makin the "then not so experienced" Lewis fight his fight.. Bowe has the better chin here. And IMO hit almost as hard as Lewis.. Bowe had a great inside game, heart, and awesome Jab.. THis would be evenly contested up until the late rounds when Bowe catches Lewis and finishes him......... Bowe Tko 11

Lennox knocks him out and Bowe and his manager knew it. Just too fast, too good a puncher for Bowe, better jab, better outside, Bowe tries to come inside and he takes Lennox's bombs. This isn't a cruserweight Holyfield or arm punching Golota and Bowe isn't walking through them with his none existant defense
