cotto in 6.. too skilled and powerful for ortiz. ortiz needs to go back to 140 and give maidana a rematch then fight khan.
Even though Cotto is on the slide... He is still a very experienced fighter and at welter was a good puncher,,.,, There is a chance Ortiz could jump on him early and pull an upset (finish what Torres didnt).. But more times than not Cotto takes this.... Ortiz has the potential to be an elite fighter, but hes got to sharpen up his defense.. When he pays attention hes got sound defense, but when he gets into a shootout his defense falls apart and Cotto will jump on that... Think ORtiz would do good early and probably hurt and possibly have Cotto in deep trouble but Cotto shakes it off.. By the 4th or 5th he starts picking Ortiz apart and doing his damage.. Cotto tko 8 Actually i thik Ortiz and Canelo would even be a better fight.. and pickem... Both with lots of talent and power.. But both also flawed.. This is also a fight that can be made since both are Golden boy fighters...
The Welterweight Axe Murderer version of Ortiz probably takes a close decision, in damn good fight, over Cotto @ 147. As long as Cotto had no issue making 147.
Of course he can. He weighed in at 145 in his last welterweight fight and said he was fine doing so. He didnt move up because he was draining himself, he moved up because he wanted to, for whatever reason. (Others might say he was forced out)
Cotto would batter Ortiz. Ortiz is too wild and leaves himself open to a potentially huge left rip to the body
Hey, man, totally off topic, but I've been meaning to ask you...I just started trying out free weight bench press after a few years of doing the smith machine...I always had a complex about benching free weights...anyway, I'm 5'6, 147...what bench max would be considered strong for a person my size? My max now is around 220 or so...
Double your body weight is really strong. Much more than that and you're putting on too much mass for any efficiency. Maxing 225 for your weight is really good, you get up to 265ish and you'll have a bunch of meat you don't need.
THats pretty good for 147. Average man can only bench there weight, but then again the average man is kind of weak... Id say once you hit 1.5 times your weight thats pretty good, definitely alot stronger than aveerage.
Double my body weight would be close to 300 pounds...hell naw... I seriously doubt if I'll ever be able to lift that much...220 takes a WHOLE lot of effort...
