    I maxed 235 when I worked out regularly, I weighed about 165.

That took like 2 years to get up to.

You're already at a decent max for a guy your size, I wouldn't go much higher since you like being lean and boxing.

Thanks, but that 220 is just my max...one rep, and I've only done it once. For my sets (6 reps, 5 sets) I do 180...how is that for someone trying to put on mass?

Sorry Luke...not trying to hijack your thread...

Less reps + higher weight = more mass.

The cotto before he lost to margarito would beat victor but the current cotto would get Knocked out!

You guys should also remember victor is only 24 years old.. He's still improving!

For strength usually 4 to 6 reps. I heard for mass 6 to 8 reps, but i thnk 4-6 reps will work fine for size.... I usually start out with a warmup 20 reps then do 7 reps 5reps then 3 or 4 reps.. THen i go back to 5rep 6 or 7 reps then burn out.. I do it until failure.. But thats chest bench i then do another 3 sets of dumbell press.. 3 sets decline then 2 or 3 sets of flys on chest day.

Make sure you're using your shoulders too, that increases your bench a lot. If you neglect your shoulders you'll suffer on chest.

Actually, other than some sparring, my boxing days are over. My coach gave me an ultimatum...either stop lifting weights or he'll stop training me for competition...I'm 31, so, I decided to give up boxing (or any hope of competing, anyway) and go for the beach body...

147 is way too heavy for someone my height, and I refuse to lose weight...but anyway, to contribute to the topic of the thread, Ortiz-Cotto would be a great fight. I'd give it to Ortiz via close decision, based off youth, and what he showed against Berto...

i don't get y folks automatically label miguel as something terrible after losing to tony

miguel never complained about him being done, if anything he's always said he was better

what makes you say victor would knock him out?

Ortiz by TKO... The way I see it, Cotto would have to lose more weight to make 147, thus making it harder for him to win fight. :good

I'll take Cotto in a close one if he can still make 147 comfortably.
