Last time I made a list I had him at # 101, which sounds kind of harsh, until you consider that I have him ahead of guys like Antonio Cervantes, Joe Frazier, Floyd Patterson, Wilfred Benitez, Sammy Angott, Eusebio Pedroza, Esteban DeJesus, Panama Al Brown, Kid Chocolate, Ismael laguna, Flash Elorde, Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson. And let me tell you, if Floyd Mayweather retired today, I'd have him ahead of him too. (I rank him ahead of the likes of MAB, Morales and JMM as well, but with my bashing these guys relentlessly lately, I kinda guess that goes without saying...)
this. Oscar had a lot of media help on his side. that alone bumped him up 10-15 spots. personally i dont know, never was a big fan. seemed to lose big fights, and I never understood why people got excited when he would throw flurries of punches...he never lands! I've never seen a guy get a crowd so excited because he landed a left hook onto thin air. But to be honest he was an above average talent, and won a lot of ABC's, has some good names on the resume so 65-75ish
You know you are currently winning the ESB biggest Hipster poll, right? This is why. No way has there been 100 better boxers than Frazier, Holyfield, Tyson, Morales, Barrera and Mayweather Jr
Didn't you know being dominant champions in boxings most sought after division is a piece of **** in the 80s and 90s, as is being the best boxer of the 00s. These men can't help to live up to an obscure 70s flyweight who had a grand total of 5 fighters in his division
I'd say he be around #25 for me. Totally undervalued. I would say he's not too far behind Sanchez and DEFINITLY ahead of Alexis.
I agree i think Barrera,Morales,Tyson,Fraizer should all be moved up 30 to 60 places .. And Holy about 80 places... Dont know where exactly to put Mayweather yet but its very high, above MAB,Morales,Fraizer,Tyson and right now maybe a little below Holyfield... Holyfield deserves extra props for being by far the most dominant cruiser ever, and becomming ATG HW in an era of Super Hw. I cant help but think that he is not giving the modern day fighters there just do, and giving too much credit to turn of the century fighters.
