    Round 6

Smith is hurting Rodela now! The Oxnard man is rocked a few times by headshots that have his mouth gaping open and his eyes glazing over a bit. "Dangerous David" stays right there in front of Smith, though - a willing party to the abuse as he tries to find a big punch to get him back in the fight. Smith is just slamming him at will with hard overhand rights and left hooks to the jaw and crunching upper-hooks to the midsection with both hands. NASTY stuff being taken by Rodela, here.

60-54 Smith - with that last one bordering on 10-8

On that Telemundo card, Cuahtemoc Vargas sure isn't fighting like someone who's lost 4 of his last 5. Good stuff.

    Joe Martinez has the scores...

    Unanimous decision

Duane Ford & Herb Santos have 59-55 and Dave Moretti 58-56 all for Smith.

Wait - his nickname is "Negro Mexicano"?

edit: Yes, just confirmed via Google. That, or alternately, "Lightning Lonnie". Something tells me English-speaking American TV networks are going to wanna go with Lightning Lonnie.

Would almost say if Smith had another round or two, he could have stopped him, BUT...have felt that way the last few rounds and dude didn't go nowhere.

I'm kinda shocked that wasn't a shutout on any of the judges' cards. They all found a round for Rodela..and Dave Moretti found two. :blood

He is a brave *******. He got his ass beat.

Nieves appears to have the better stamina now. For the first 4-5 rds Vargas was in control and looked like a baby MAB in the ring.
