ALL the big fights seem to be coming together at the moment.

Klitschko v Haye, DeGale v Groves and Murray v Mitchell - but the big one still does not look like ever happening.

It was a year ago this weekend Floyd Mayweather fought Shane Mosley in Las Vegas but Pretty Boy hasn't climbed into the ring since and shows little sign of doing so.

Everyone wants to see him fight Manny Pacquiao, a fight that would smash all box office records.

Yet with every month that passes, the fight looks less likely to happen. Mayweather has been so inactive that he faces being removed from the P4P top 10.

In fact, he has only fought twice in three and a half years whilst the Pacman has had eight!

This week, Mayweather faced trial for battery, but the hearing was postponed until September.

He still faces a charge of assaulting his ex-partner, which will be heard in the next few days.

Those distractions outside of the ring make it less likely Mayweather will box anytime soon.

In a year when big fights look like happening, Mayweather's absence is bad for boxing.

David Haye and Wladimir Klitschko managed to put aside their differences to agree a deal to meet on July 2.

And next week the busy Pacquiao takes on Mosley at the MGM Grand. I said last year Pacquiao didn't have many fights left in him but he shows little sign of slowing up.

This week it was revealed that promoters Top Rank have made an offer to Juan Manuel Marquez to face Manny for the third time.

The first two fights were close - a draw and a split decision win for Pacquiao. He has to deal with Mosley first but shows no signs of easing up on his spectacular career.

Another big fight that looked like getting signed off this week was Amir Khan against Timothy Bradley.

Both boxers said they wanted it and they were close to signing terms.
But the size of Bradley's purse has been a major stumbling block.

Bradley's been accused of losing his bottle, but he's taken big fights before, including a unification match-up with Devon Alexander.

It's the fact that he's got two titles to Khan's one that makes him a tough man to negotiate with and why should he take the short end?

I said a couple of weeks ago that Khan and HBO would have to dig deep financially if he wants to face the best.

Haye made sacrifices to face Wladimir Klitschko and Khan might have to do the same if wants the Bradley fight.

Remember, Bradley's coming into this one off the back of that impressive win over Alexander, while Khan didn't set the world on fire against Paul McCloskey.

He's Gavin a good time

I AM delighted that Britain's only amateur world champion Frankie Gavin has signed a three-year extension of his contract with me.

Frankie has impressed me big-time since going pro two years ago. He will fight for the WBO Intercontinental title on May 21 after Kell Brook was stripped of the belt.

CONGRATULATIONS to Stephen Smith, who beat John Simpson for a second time on Wednesday night in Liverpool.

Smith joins a select band who have won both British and Commonwealth

titles at featherweight in his 12th fight. He and brother Paul are also part of an even smaller group of brothers who have both won the Lonsdale belt.

A FILM about the Klitschko brothers, imaginatively entitled Klitschko, showed at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.

It details their rise from poverty in the Soviet Union to world champions. It should be worth checking out.

THE Prizefighter circus has announced its latest offering. A surprise inclusion was Cuba's ex-WBC cruiserweight king Juan Carlos Gomez. He once beat Oliver McCall but it was ruled a no-contest following a positive test for cocaine.

I thought their ould fella was some sort of high ranking officer in the Soviet military?

personally I didnt think Bradley was impressive in beating Alexander at all.

Kotelnik after the 4th round had Alexander shut down, bradley was having more difficulty with him and his main weapon was illegal headbutts

What's the reasoning behind stripping Brook? (Even if it is only an intercontinental strap)
